It's another based on folk tale shit thing!

I've heard theatre people actually say that. Seriously.

I've always considered Shakespeare material as something I have to drag myself through in order to get the grades in school. It would be great to see something like this to make light of such material.

I am intrigued! You have provided a good variety of characters, a good intro to them (which I guess is from your already done web series), and I can see lots of potential with this size of cast and the variety of personalities.

This idea has great potential, and I'm surprised there are not more comments; c'mon Canada, take a look at a thoughtful and humorous show where great writers from the past are really from our time and place! I like this idea very much. So keep showing us what you can do with your imaginative concept, team Blank Verse.

Highbrow comedy, a daring idea, I'd like to see more, good energy, characters will need to be better defined but its hard to discern that in a two minute trailer. Also not sure if they are acting students or English students or students at all so some clarity needed there but I'm drawn in.

As someone who somehow managed to graduate high school with Julius Caesar being the only Shakespearean play I ever read, would I appreciate this as much as others who are more familiar with him? In other words, how deep is the tie-in to Shakespeare, or is it more of namesake than a weave through the content?

Definitely! It is mostly a show about struggling university students- it just happen to be based on the lives of famous historical writers that includes nods to Shakespeare's famous works! It's an added bonus if you get the subtle Shakespeare jokes, but anyone can find these characters and the crazy situations they find themselves in to be funny.

This totally has the look of an independent film, which is intriguing to me. I like the concept, and think you've got a lot of material to work with. I find it fascinating, and would totally watch. My question is, is it cerebral to people who aren't familiar with Shakespeare? Does it feel accessible to everybody?

I find it very accessible! I've never lived in an English-speaking country & I'm not even that much into drama, so I think I have about the same basic knowledge of Shakespeare as someone who went to an English-speaking highschool, from what I've read on my own. Probably less. And yet I love this webseries. I mean, a lot of references probably flew over my head but beyond all of this, this is just a good story that appealed to me, with characters I found interesting. As someone suggested, you should try the webseries if you want to have a clearer idea of what this is like.
