Synopsis

Jock Borque has been working for the same company for the last 25 years. He never climbed the corporate ladder. Actually, he couldn't climb A LADDER even if he wanted to. On the day HR sends him an Eligibility for Retirement letter, Jacques realizes that he's "Fireproof". Fireproof is an over the top comedy which pushes the boundaries of what one can get away with at work when you're eligible for retirement. Along with his only friend at the company, Jock will seek out silent revenge, havoc, and anarchy on the people he works with. Will he retire with a full pension or will he end up getting canned before he can hit pension paydirt?

So, I think I am suppose to like this show. I mean, I am a 50 something man, close to retirement, so I am assuming I should play into the demographic of this concept.

Except I don't.

If I were to do some thing like this, my 'pranks' would be sophisticated, intelligent, and artfully executed. Think, a nice glass of bourbon.

They would not be gutter-like, mindless, sick and cheap. Think, whatever 5.5% beer that's on sale.

I like the premise.
I dislike the execution. I dislike your main character who is portrayed as a buffoon and un-relatable due to the mere choices of these pranks.

I hope that if you make it to the next round, you leave these shock value stunts behind and actually play to your audience.

No... Just no. Do we really need that on prime time? People eat at that time of day. I want funny that makes me spit my food out laughing not gross that makes me want to barf.

Eligible retiree can't get fired. Large demographic re: past, present and future retiree population but premise is weak.

I liked the idea, I think it has potential to be funny if they get creative with it and stay away from too much vulgarity to stay on the funny side.

Joe C. Thanks for your feedback. Part of the criteria that CBC wanted for this contest was: It’s got to be original, brave comedy that doesn’t pull punches.

I know the guys and the team on this, It would make a great web series for a +16 audience, But maybe tone it down abit for the CBC.
