I'm impressed that Joe got 6, I have a distinct memory of farm minimum being 5.25 and being real pissed off because half of my friends worked at Mac's instead of tobacco farms and so made "actual" minimum wage.

So the show's called Fruit Farm. And their doing stuff like that. Well, the name definitely makes sense! LOL. But it kinda looks like it's more of a show, for Show Case. I don't know. That's just my opinion.

Without a doubt this is the best concept for a sitcom since Seinfeld and Cheers. NBC brought both of those to fame and fortune and I think Fruit Farm can bring Must See TV back to the network. My suggestion to CBC is to crown Fruit Farm the winner, sign a long term deal and then sell the rights to NBC. It would be a win, win for everyone. Funny Joe gets his show, viewers get to laugh every week, NBC gets back on top of the ratings and the taxpayers cash in on CBC's royalties and the success of this show.

Thanks for the nice words Sheldon. The project really will focus on the dynamic between father and son that a lot of us deal with but will also explore the interrelationships the young farm worker has with his co-workers and family! Kind of a mix between The Wonder Years and Malcolm in the Middle :-)

Way to go, Joe's father!!! Joe, you complain too much, that was awesome work :)) Obviously, you were making more money than your friend at the Niagara town! Your daddy is so fast at math: that quick multiplying!!!...is he still faster ...than...you know who? :)) just asking, no big deal .. I don't even know what multiplying is :))
Well, Fruit Farm Joe is growing, he's a teenager now and slowly, but steadily is growing a voice to argue with his father. Still, the father has a strooong grip on him :) I'm pretty sure Joe likes his dad a lot, no matter what the today's jokes/tales about him have to say. Buuut, but I love these tales and I want to hear and see way more (like...all of'em)!
I like the involving of more actors in your video and I would like too see even more people in your shows. How about the Fruit Farm with you as the grown up, as the father. Well, I guess that's future videos, towards week 10, perhaps?
I'd guess that the differentiator here (compared to other teams) is holding tight to the Fruit Farm idea, like a TV series show, where the audience knows now the characters and gets to like them and is eager for the next week's episode to see more of it. Here you only have 10 weeks, or better said, ten one minute and a half mini shows, to present it to us, the audience, like the briefing of a brief! But I suspect you have plenty of material to fill in a 30 mins show with more than one or two actors :)
I'm totally faving this video and supporting this team and I'm really really eager to see the next week "episode" :)
Great job, TFF (Team Fruit Farm...or Team Friends Forever :))
Keep up the good episodes :)

Thanks so much for all the kind words and feedback Bogdan. You're right - we really are trying to build a connection to the characters and, having completed the Pilot Episode script we feel that this show could be the perfect balance of serious laughs and a great long term connection with an audience.

I've always have enjoyed the quality of the filming of your videos. As for being a series I'm a little skeptical in how that would work. To me it seems to be more of a stand up comedy act that has a video attached. I'm not sure if the CBC is really looking for another stand up comedy act. It would have been great if you expressed how you were different in this video as to clarify that for me. Good luck with the competition!

Christina - thanks for the views and for the thoughtful feedback. I agree that we maybe could have chosen a better format to showcase the difference maker in our show (we chose to go with "here's how our material is different rather than maybe the show as a whole). I promise you if we get voted into the top 50 we'll paint a much clearer picture of how the stand up "material" really works well as a weekly plot.

This would be better as a youtube video series- each one would showcase a different old story Joe and his father as a flashback. That way the set ups could rise and fall in a short form. 30 mins of this wouldn't last in an episodic. My two cents.
