Synopsis

The only thing worse than being a politician is working for one. THE HILL is a political satire that isn’t about Politicians but the staffers that do the work, take the crap and actually run the country. THE HILL digs into the high-strung lives of the women and men who staff the Prime Minister’s Office. It’s backstabbing, back scratching, and a little bit of backdoor dealings, corrupt senators, kinky cabinet ministers and a full frontal caucus. THE HILL is Canada’s political bathing-suit-parts laid bare cause when you are working on THE HILL you realize the nation is run by boobs, asses, and dicks. Politics are dirtier than porn, more addictive than heroin and you’re all invited to the orgy.

A.J Demers - writer, performer and director. He has an MFA in screenwriting from UBC. He’s writer in residence at Sage theatre, wrote/performed 100 episodes of the award-winning The Spin for CityTV & was a writer for the 2014 CCMA Awards. He’s in development on two commissioned features. His feature THE WEEKEND was short listed for the 2014 Telefilm Microbudget program.

Recently she appeared in the Canadian feature, "The F Word", directed by Michael Dowse. Her one woman show, Blind Date, continues to tour North America. She was raised white trash & drinks gin

We live in a time where politics matter more than ever. I believe this show will have the potential to create a strong satirical comment about who we let run our country. Not to mention, the people involved in this project are fantastic!

You have some very experienced people and so the expectations are VERY high. Although there is some funny content, I do not see this going week to week. It is nothing new and I think new is what is needed to win.

It has the possibility to be funny: however, it is not really new and there are already some great political comedies about political life. A tough road week after week.
