I hadn't followed this project until now, but I kind of love what I just saw. Could be a fantastic series, so I truly hope you get great actors and writers. Premise seems good and original, it will be interesting for viewers to decipher what's real and what's a yarn! Good luck in the voting tomorrow.

To be honest, I wasn't totally sure what this pitch was about from watching your past videos, but after this one I get it. I love the idea. It's like a communal small-town Big Fish. Cool concept. Nicely done.

Yeah, never let those pesky facts get in the way of a good yarn, eh? I wish I was able to catch a hold of the thread better, though, but I'm not quite sure of the big jist so far. However, I suppose that makes me curious enough to want to see more. Best of luck with your series, Yarn!

Nope, you guys didn't do the sell sheet right. There is way too much white space. Oh well, your videos are great despite your terrible graphic art. I particularly cringe at badly cutout logo; why would you keep the negative space in the loops instead of deleting it? I have to admit this has been driving me crazy! Great videos though, I enjoy everything but the rage inducing logo.

We have gone out of our way to do everything ourselves or with a small crew, regardless if we weren't professionals. I really feel that is the soul of the Comedy coup. Everything was done as favours or by ourselves with what we've had. We're trying and learning these things as we go and as far as I'm concerned, everyone who has worked on this project has done a great job.

this seems like an interesting concept. a bit surrealist and absurdist and bizarre. i dig it. im definitely on board. i like the rural setting, too. i do worry that it might be a bit toos trange for mainstream audiences. but hey. what can ya do.

mainstream has gotten pretty used to strange, but I hear what your saying, and with some financing and some development time we can create it into something for mainstream, these are only snippits of what we want in a whole series.

  • Vanessa's Photo
    Vanessa S. 1  posted 10 years ago

As someone from a rural area I can appreciate the premise of this show. Love the idea of seeing things from multiple points of view, can really see how visualizing the embellishments, and people's reactions to them, could be quite hilarious.

  • Kane's Photo
    Kane S. 1  posted 10 years ago

Agree with a lot of of the comments that the characters seem really strong and you have a good sense of them. I think a big part of this is that there hasn't been a weekly mission specifically for this but would like to get a better sense of what a full episode would be like.

    Dominique's Photo
    Dominique G. 0  posted 10 years ago

    Hey Kane,
I totally agree. It's really hard to explain ourselves within the confines of the missions. It is a bit of a weird one. Hopefully we'll be able to have something come our way that will fit better with the feel we're trying to portray.

    Micah's Photo
    Micah M. 0  posted 10 years ago

For sure! I would love to have the next mission be a video similar to the first one, and for us to make another teaser for the series as I feel it has developed immensely since the beginning of the Comedy Coup

The colorful pile of rope you're laying on does look like yarn at first ... clever. I like the idea of the tall tales that spin out of control as added to by the small town. Stories based on lies and embellishment can wear thin pretty quick, but I see it could be funny as long as you can keep it fresh.

Generally like the idea of small town story telling. Hope it doesn't become too predictable or the "idiot characters" too stupid. There is a lot of stupid on TV. Don't need any more. Good Luck.

I agree with Matt. Your production is great. I was curious why you chose not to use the dialogue in the first scene of this video? I was VERY close to turning the video off when the narrator came in just in time. These days of incredibly short attentions spans, 30 seconds of silence can lose a lot of viewers. Great idea overall though. Good luck in the vote!

An example of the yarn or story would have been appreciated. I get that it's about two social misfits who like to swear and drink beer, but how the yarns hold the whole thing together escapes me. Could have its funny moments though.

This was my favourite explanation of your concept. I would have liked to have an example yarn running as the narrator explained the concept. I think it's a neat idea and I was excited to see it play out. I liked all of the dynamic locations you showed. You also do a great job of capturing facial expressions.

I'm sure you have a rich mythology worked out for the Arsehole Fairy but I don't think it was that funny without the back story. I thought, do these guys want me to laugh at the word arsehole?

It would have been nice if your facebook event showed any sign of humour at all.

As long as you can keep writing yarns you can keep the series going and since a lot of it is fictitious you can even tell the same story over and over! Good luck this weekend and hopefully see you on the other side...
