Week 4 Key It: Poster A Cooked

Poster A

For our first poster we decided to take the hand painted approach. For inspiration, we spent many hours looking at old propaganda and film noir posters. We wanted there to be a significant amount of symbolism in the painting to reflect as much of the show as possible. Think long and hard about this one, let it simmer in your brain and you'll see it's more than just a one-glance poster.

Week 4 Key It: Poster B Cooked

Poster B

On this poster we also wanted to have some form of symbolism. After hours of brain storming what situation to put our "miniature chef" into, we decided that "the can" was the best place for him - also, a beautiful arrangement of vegetables has been set up for your viewing pleasure.

The painting in progress

The painting in progress

Here is the painting in progress. Lot's of time was given to the little chef hanging off the knife, and the great propaganda-style fist of power. We spray painted the board a bright red, this is what gave the face in the knife reflection it's "Devilish" look.

Another idea

Another idea

Here we have a different idea for Poster 2. We planned to have our chef staring into the ominous looking trap where the bait is indeed... money - what every chef really desires. Also a great deal of symbolism in this idea, can you figure it out?

I like your posters but I found poster B a little hard to read the writing with it over the cans... It was just a little hard on the eyes... I'm an old soul though haha so maybe it's just me! :P
