I hereby state that the following commentary is over the required 100 characters and is as follows: love it!
Good luck guys! This video is fantastic and I’ve really enjoyed all the stuff you’ve made. Hope to see you in the final round. You really deserve it…more than some others out there.
this is quite similar to several other plots out there. some of the ideas are funny but do not seem original. maybe things will progress in a more interesting way.
Depflies is my favorite work of art I have ever witnessed. I can't believe you guys are selling out for the TV. Vivre Depflies live sur scene, Vivre le Quebec libre.
Billingual eh:? You guys may have tapped into something really good. Congrats on making the top 55 and good luck in the rest of the voting. Wishing you the best in the competition, your good friend Sharon.
This genuinely seems really cool and special. It's completely unique, and I really hope you guys get to make it.
I love this show so much and I think a lot of people in Canada could relate to these kind of situations. I also love how you have french and english incorporated into the show. I think the timing of the jokes is really well acted and I would definitely keep watching this show.
punk rock gangsta! love the dance moves. love the low rent class ;-)
I think you guys are relying too heavily on the bilingual aspect of your videos, there were a couple of things in there that were meant to be funny, but the jokes weren't great and the deliverance needs to be improved upon.
This is bound to be a ground breaking show, the likes of which have never before emerged on the waves of the cbc. It is a concept of a setting that is so familiar and speaks to every citizen of Montreal (and, I gather, anywhere there is a convenience store.) Vote Deplflies, if you want to see something that will transport you to a place that you probably just came from for the to get your necessary TV watching collations.
You guys are kind of fucking geniuses. I want this show to win it all.
j'adore!! Venant moi même de st henry, je retrouve un peu du quartier en vous, le fait que cela soit en bilingue c'est juste genia!!! Feels like home!
The bilingual aspect is really naturally done, it doesn't feel forced - which is great.
Best video yet! It's funny, and the cinematography is REALLY REALLY good. Especially like the part where the song starts and they use the fish eye thing. Way to go!
Sweet Project! Keep it up y'all!
i like the nagging housewife scene telling her man the score. You go girl. PS.. Are you pregnant yet? I will use her tactics in my marriage. My husband needs to be educated on how things work in my world. Good luck with the rest of this adventure.
Funny, silly and so humorous, keep up the good work; nice to see something that's just funny without being offensive. Love it; keep going.
You guys are just KILLING it, week after week! Great job! The skit with the chip-a-getties and Bill Murray/ Bill-Marie/ Guillame Marie is absolutely wickedly brilliant. Fantastic writing and I look forward to more. Love the bilingual concept. I feel like my french is improving!
Great video. The subtitles are sometimes hard to read when the font colour is the same colour as the background. Can you get a program that will automatically change the font colour to make the subtitle easier to read? Go Depflies!!
Drones! That's so awesome! I want one! Also bilingualism is awesome but I don't know how to say drones on French? Des Drones? Autohelicopteur?
One of my favourite teams out there for so many reasons. High quality production, clear concept, funny videos. I hope this team moves through to the next round.
Another funny and unique video. Especially love the fact that it's bilingual. I'm looking forward to more and I'm voting to ensure that I will see more. Keep up the great work!
You guys bring it every week and every video! Great concept and bilingual with colourful characters! Congratulations on coming up with entertaining surprises each week! Can't wait to see more! I want you on tv now!
This one's got some serious funny going on. I love that it is bilingual ...although I'm a slow reader, so keep those subtitles up as long as possible. I know this is hard when translating from French. Looks like some cool characters and great settings. I look forward to fallowing their antics and seeing where this is going. Up the Revelution.
I really like the concept and acting. Looks like it could be a great series. Have you guys thought about adding french subtitles for the English dialogue?
One of my favourite things about Montreal are the corner store depanneurs that sell beer and wine. I've never noticed the depflies hanging around in them. This has great promise for a series.
Haha crazy and funny! You guys are drawing from such a great resource of material and showcasing all of Montreal and Canada! And Bilingual which makes it a stand out for sure. Want to see more and have you develop the show each week! Great!
This is a very interesting concept and I love that it incorporates so many different aspects. The music is pretty awesome too!
This project is so amazing! I love the bilingual aspect. You guys are hilarious, original, and unique. Keep up the great work, and can't wait to see more!
Your concept is so unique, fresh and just stands out head and shoulders above the rest! Great characters and writing. Makes me laugh! Can't wait to see more each and every week. Voting for you to make it all the way!
you guys are awesome.
Getting better and better. Uniquely from Quebec and great characters. Good Luck
Excellent rythme! Bill Murray/Guillaume-Marie : hilarious line
There is so much potential in this show! So many stories that can stem from these characters, and it sticks out from the others in a bunch of ways. Bilinguality being a major one.
Nice work, best video ya's did yet, can't wait to see what ya's are going to do next, very interesting, ya got me hooked
I like it! Can't wait to see which way this troup is going to go... What would it take to conceive Bill Murray?!? Or... stop the condo development?!?
LIKE IT c'est bon ...
Punk Rock sit-com I love it, the revolution stuff is going to scare some people but fuck it this looks awesome!
I want my breakfast revolution to be CHIPAGETTI and delivered by Peter with the depcycle in the week four poster challenge! Yeaaaaaaa. Love this, can't wait to see more videos!!
That was funny CHIPAGETTI
really cool concept guys. The bilingual aspect really makes it feel like a true canadian story. this is what television needs today, Look forward to seeing what comes next and good luck with the top fifty
I LOVE the fact that this show is bilingual, really captures the spirit of Montreal. Also doesn't hurt that its fucking hilarious. Great work :)
I like the pink cup
This is inventive and original. Comedy needs a punk revolution!!
This is vulgar
The hardest sell of this series will be the bilingual aspect. It's a proud part of our nation, but the majority of Canadians only have fluency in one language. But if handled right, (subtitles, etc...) this could be a great show that boasts our bilingual culture, while also comedically skewering it!
Love the mix of two languages and the drone shot was epic! Well done, good luck!!
A clever video and original. Funny group of people. Good writing. Keep up the good work. Interesting to watch and look forward to see the new directions you take the videos in the coming weeks.
very funny and original... i would be so proud to have this become a tv show on the CBC.... we need a bilingual show. I hop eyou guys make it all the way, i will be rooting for you all!!!!
Great video and writing along with the filming and editing. Truly interesting and would love to see this come to television. You have a fan for sure!
It's great to see a project coming out of Montreal. Keep up the good work. I think I may have been a depfly when I was younger. I really want to see which direction you go in over the coming weeks.
Great video. One of the best and most interesting ideas for a tv show. Can't wait to watch it on CBC
Vraiment intéressant!!! Good Job
This looks really interesting! I like that you have scenes with one character speaking in French, and the other responding in English. I've seen people do this is real life and I've always been intrigued by it. This is also the first time I've heard of a completely bilingual show!
wow, what an interesting concept. I am surprised no one thought of it before now being as we are a bilingual country, French and English. Unfortunately I don't think it is going to fly. We have SO many other ethnicities in the country now that have a hard time with English as their first language let alone trying to read the sub-titles, which for me were too fast to grasp and English is my mother tongue. AND I was born and raised in Northern Ontario and spent time in Quebec and took French in school.
So it is an interesting concept, but feel it could be presented in another way that would make it easier to follow as there were some really good bits in it.
Great to see a bilingual show based in Montreal and funny too! Brings back memories of growing up in Montreal and heading to the store for some candy. Bill-Marie was funny!
the bill-marie shtick was very funny. Nice to see a bilingual show that would probably draw big numbers in Quebec. I think u'll make Top 50.
This is the first bilingual show I saw, and I find it great since it is my reality. I also find that the part with the couple was funnier.
Hey, I didn't really understand the whole concept of this show. I thought the bit between the couple with the chips and pasta was the funniest. I think Bill Marie would be a great name!
awesome
The billingual concept is definitely something I haven't seen on TV before. It looks great guys!
love the bilingual thing... i hope this makes it all the way, I want to see a bilingual comedy on our nations station!! About time, am i right? All the characters i've seen so far seem really solid... keep it up!
I definitely like that it is bilingual. Has a very raw and Canadian feel to it. I like the comedically laced political/social commentary this project has going on too.
oh tres drole merci
C'est toujours bon les pièces. La série tv sera m o n g o l e.
I couldn't understand half of it
Great peeps, great neighbourhood, great show! Can't wait to see you guys win, hostie!
This show deserves props for being the only one I've seen on here in both official languages. That will not be easy to do but I find it refreshing and look forward to seeing more. Good luck!
heille! enwoye donc! you guy make the good one!
Loving Depflies , great job on the dual language stuff really funny stuff !! And who doesn't love the dep they have beer and chips and smokes and porn and beer and papers and you guys !!
Chipaghetti baby!
making some NOW
You really do a nice job of blending the two languages with clever dialogue. Laughed out loud for Bill Marie/Murray. Really good usage of music as well, in this and your other videos.
Love me a deep with some tasty grit!
I love the bilingual aspect. Something that I haven't seen much on TV let alone done well like you guys have! Good luck with making the top 50! And way to rep MTL!
Now that's exactement what i call du bon punk rock bilingual entertainment, en ostie!
Totally MontREAL flavor... cleaver, fun, funny, great cast...
#CanadaISbilingual
Can't wait to see MORE!!!
LOVEcat
The CBC needs this show! Easily the most original idea I've seen, but still a solid concept with a huge amount of possibilities. Also the CBC's never had a bilingual show as far as I know. The characters, directing and writing are all bulletproof. Good Luck Guys!
Love you guys. Your show has great energy. The rest of Canada doesn't usually get to watch the great French Canadian content that gets produced in French for Quebec audiences, since it's typically such an insular market. This show seems like it could capitalize on the enthusiasm French Canadians have for French Canadian content while being much more accessible to the rest of the country than French-language-only shows. Good luck!
I like the way you are using the bilingual dialogue. Keep up the good work!
I'm a sucker for bilingual conversations. Good to see some characters and relationships emerging; I have a much stronger sense of the style of the show with this video than from the first. I'm interested to see how gentrification as a conflict plays out in Montreal, and to compare it to my experiences in Edmonton and Vancouver.
Great work! Very original :)
Lotttta fire power coming out of QUEBEC. good for you guys for contributing. Flying Dep, Depflies. it's all gravy.
I like this show. Very funny. The characters are strong. The bilingual dialogue is awesome. Great work and best of luck. This is truly Quebec and Canadian all rolled into one.
Great stuff coming out of Quebec. I find the comedy to be more wild and crazy but yet relatable. Keep up the good work and I have no doubt you're sailing into the next round.
Love the story concept. This show has joie du vivre. Really funny cast and I love the bilingual aspect. Way to go and keep it up. I know this would be a show I would watch. Good luck.
Once again you guys have NAILED it! I am SO excited about this bilingual thing! I have always wondered why there isnt a bilingual comedy on CBC.. i mean it IS the NATIONS tv station.. and this nation is BILINGUAL, beeatch! cant wait to vote for you all!
I love this idea. Being from Montreal the melange of French and English languages is so real. I would watch this for sure on tv. I can see all the different ideas that you can do with a show like this. Congrats and bonne chance.
La pièce de théâtre est excellente. Je suis certain que beaucoup de monde aimerait la pièce si c'est présenté à la TV. Ce serait une Petite Vie en version punk-rock-2015!
Definitely an interesting concept. I can't think of any other bilingual shows that have existed. Would have liked to have been shown more on why this show is different though.
I am enjoying the energy your team brings, not just the performances but the pacing of the editing as well.
How many takes did you do of Alain's exit in the opening scene? His cracking a smile looked like breaking character, just saying, I want this project to succeed so rachet up the fine tuning. Get serious.. ly hilarious.
I really like this concept. Each week is a little snippet unravels towards what I hope is the full story/picture. I am not sure exactly where you are going, but you have spiked my curiosity and I want to go along for the ride. Maybe next week provide a bit more focus on key characters. Everyone and everything comes at you so fast (although I am aware of the time constraints) it can take a few views to try and get the full gist of what is going on (plus I only have high school French ☹). The subtitles were sometimes hard to read (white text on light background) and with everything moving fast, I missed a bit on the first view.
So many good things all together. I like Depanneurs and chips and spaghetti.
Love this!! Trop good
guys, just wanna say..... I LOVE YOU!! I already commented on this vid.. but I love it so much, i have to tell you again! Please be on CBC!!! brrrap brrrrap brrrrrrrap!
What? I actually laughed out loud like lol. And the drone shot, well, it ruled my world. Im excited to see more. Please post the recipe for chip-a-ghetti. Thanks.
You guys have done it again! I am rooting for you all SO hard! I want to see a bilingual comedy on TV!! PLEEEEASE! I am going to share this with everyone I know, and I know they will be as excited as I am about it. I just feel so at home watching something in english and french!
We definitely need more série télévisée bilingue in this country. Also, mmmmm, chipaghetti....
You might have seen a housefly maybe even a Superfly, now see Depfly. Haha
How much fun would it be to be a depfly with those crazy characters every week!!!
Oh OUI!! Lets see you guys start a revolution on CBC!! Get some BILINGUAL comedy in there!! LOVE IT GUYS.
I just started a revolution.
It's an interesting concept, but your jokes may have come across better if the non bilingual viewer didn't have to read the punch line. Also I found the writing a bit hard to read done as it was in white and blended a bit with the background. Not too sure how this video explains why you are unique, and still a little fuzzy on your concept. Good luck with the competition though guys!
Agree about the subtitle colour.
Hey Christina, thanks for the comments, we learned our lesson with the subtitles too, they are a bit too bright, thanks. We consider ourselves unique because we deal with punk subculture and we are bilingual. Our concept is like Cheers meets Portlandia, if that helps! Thanks and hope to remove the fuzziness in upcoming videos!
Jamais déçue de Depflies. Je vous aime d'amour. BE A FORCE. PEACE . ROCK N ROLL , there is not enough words in this world to express my love to you guys!
J'aime bien le dialogue between english and french. Ça pourrait faire un peu difficile for some to understand but, being bilingual makes it extra spéciale.
Parfait. Beau. Poetic
Week 3 goes to Depflies. All the other shows wish they were as unique as Depflies.
The energy, the chemistry, the performers are really PRESENT. Charming crew. That Plato quote from "Simon C." instantly made this project into legend. I think this is one of the shows that really transports the audience to a new, interesting place. The bilingualism that I've seen so far is very natural and compelling. It makes me want to make jokes in French.
A black outline on the subtitles would help the words pop for my weak, weak eyes. Might be worth perusing the internet for past greats. Y'know, learn from the masters of subtitle styling?
#datyestho
That whole Bill-Marie dialogue kept me smiling a long time after watching the vid. Well done!!
Wow, lâchez pas! Bill-Marie = le plus beau prénom ever!
They keep getting better and better!! amazing work! LOVE IT!!
Juste . Excellent
That's my city :). J'adore!! J'ai une soudaine envie de manger du chipaghetti! The redheaded punk's nod was the best part.
Guys, it's nice to see some home-grown Quebecois based humour in this thing. Not gonna lie, I laughed my way through the whole differentiator video. Also, HABS>EVERY TEAM IS MORE LIKE IT! Looking forward to seeing you guys move on! Bonne chance!
I always enjoy watching your videos! You have an exciting concept. I would watch you every week! Keep it up.
haha funny stuff. good work depflies.
You missed the point of the mission this week. Flashing the words in the last 5 seconds of the video doesn't really help the viewers understand what makes you special.
I love the drone shot! I also like embracing both official languages. This is the only concept I’ve seen on here doing that.
I dont think you understood the goal of the project this week and i dont get why you switch between english and french at random time. There is just no cohesion in this story. But keep up the work I think it has potential, you just need to start putting things up together
YES! It's so good to see some more character & story development on these funnies! I want MOOOORE.
(#datyestho from Peter in the beginning ^_^ hahaha)
Dépflies embodies the perfection of nature. Gods have become men, and this city is their home.
- Plato, sometime BC
Way to go. These characters are hilarious.... and could be my relatives!
I like the pink cup
Something about this show catches my attention so far. I like the way it allows you an intimate look into Quebec culture and does so in a really funny light-hearted way. Interested to see more.
oh so role merci
Revolutionary Communism is a good concept for a film show, what if they succeed and we enter into a second season where the revolution has come and we have to eat healthy chips on unsalted noodles, I would find that pleasurable.
couldn't have said it better.
This is one of the few truly original projects I've seen in this competition, and maybe the only bilingual one (I haven't gotten through all of them so can't say for sure). Go originality, go Dépflies!!!
Dig it! this country needs more programming that bridges the gap in the French and English communities.
