It'a a laughing matter but, it' true- we are different from the rest! 1. Who makes a hospital show thats not about doctors, nurses and surgeons? We did! Dookie Squad is about the misadventures of a group of hospital janitors. 2. Look at us! Dookie Squad reps both female & male leads from multicultural backgrounds equally. 3. Well Janitors are very important in the scheme of things so hats off for the idea. It is also important to represent the diversity of Canadian culture so hats off again. Good luck advancing.

Seriously? So I'm guessing, y'all were watching Scrubs. And thought, "This is funny! And if this is funny? I'm sure, we could make a show, about the hospital, janitors! And it will be funny, too!!!" I'm sorry. But it really ain't that easy. And whether you actually, thought that, or not. I really don't see any humor in this. Unless you just go for the lowest common denominator. And just have a bunch of fart jokes. Or something. Then I might laugh once. But that's it.

Okie dookie janitors with a mop seems like a good twist on humor. So what is an average day in a janitors life sound like it has potential and it seems like you had a lot of actors helping so good luck okie dookie

Very crude, yet interesting. I like the diversity within the cast of characters and I'm we'll all be in for good laughs and good times. It seems quite realistic compared to the other shows being shown, I wish you guys the best of luck!

The fact is we all do "sh**ty jobs" the trick is to be able to find the funny in the situation. The concept of Dookie Squad does this quite well, and the diversity of the cast makes it a realistic relatable show. I wish you guys a lot of success.

I think the exact opposite, I know personally that this web series is based on real life experience, and for most working on this project it was a first time attempt at showcasing their abilities. I think Dookie Squad will rise to the occasion, keep up the great work Dookie Squad and remember don't let the Nay Sayers discourage you, allow it to push you to the top!! Peace out!

Posted my comment in the wrong place! I'm wondering if showing "diversity" as a janitorial crew isn't just reinforcing a stereoptype - as opposed to showing "us" on TV. I like the "behind the scenes at a hospital" theme, but think it needs a little tweaking. Hope you make it farther.

I don't get the other commenters. Have they not met every kid and most men under...well...before they're dead? Poo jokes, fart jokes, puke jokes, and really any body function jokes are funnier than s**t.

You definitely have the material for a full series and you can expand the character set to include the archetypes we all love to skewer. Consider the petty administrator, arrogant ass doctor, overworked and grumpy nurse, unhygenic cafeteria worker, and of course>>>>>>ME!

I can see how your concept is similar to Scrubs, but I think it's gone a bit too far with the poop jokes. I'm not sure if this would make for a great TV comedy series. I can see how lots of episodes could be made, it's just that I see it as more gross than humourous. Good luck with the competition though, you've made it this far!

I like the concept - but not sure if showing "diversity" as a menial labour crew is the way to promote seeing "us" on TV. I'm thinking you may just be reinforcing the stereotype. That said, with a little tweaking I think the concept has legs and could go farther.

Love it! I have to disagree with posters who say there are too many poop jokes. There was only one :S I love that this is a light comedy from a different angle. We can all relate to the feeling of being overworked and under appreciated at one point or another!

    Angela P. 3  posted 10 years ago

That's fine Rebeka. I agree! In fact that was our only poop joke in the entire web series :) Keep in mind they are janitors who will be cleaning.... but, thankfully there are more things to clean besides poop! Whew!

I like strong female characters that have something to say who have roles that are just as interesting and funny as their male counterparts! Girls can be funny, too!

Also, representing what the face of Canada looks like is important. Canadians are diverse. And most of us do have a regular or menial 9-5 job to attend with, interesting characters ;)

Thanks for watching and giving us some positive feedback! We are open to this kinda thing :D

Have a great day Rebeka H,

Like the setting. A little less poo. I can only laugh at so many smeared handprints. But I like the diversity and glad you addressed it. Little Mosque went there early, made inroads that need to be continued. More about your characters would be nice. Good luck.

    Hi Darcy R!

Don't worry, it's not all about dookie handprints but, messy cleanups are just a big part of a janitors job description.

From my experiences as a janitor, working at my hospital, I was apart of a big multicultural cleaning staff. So, naturally it worked out because, Canada is one big melting pot! And I think Canadian TV should be that way, too!

    Cheers,

Are you kidding ??? The characters make the show, the setting gives them plenty to work with in my opinion. Just imagine what goes on behind the scenes in a hospital. If it doesn't make you cry the obsurdity of it all, given the right perspective, will make you 'split a gut.'

    Angela's Photo
    Angela P. 1  posted 10 years ago

    That is unfortunate, Eugene.

I was a janitor for 5 years. That's right! I got a brain full of future episodes on demand! If you ever liked Scrubs (it's OK, if you don't), that's us but, for janitors (it's OK, if you still don't like us).

Thank you for watching our video/s!

    All the best Eugene A,
