Aside from being the most unbiased, trustworthy news source on the planet, Dope Ass World is also a unique as f*ck hybrid between documentary and conflict driven narrative. The news crew may be the same, but every episode we're in a different part of the world - dealing with different antagonists and situations. Oh! And sometimes real people get involved too… Whether they like it or not!Fave 63 Views 1643
Been watching you guys since pros pick, videos keep getting better. Looking forward to seeing what you dudes do in future, great work yo!
Your project has piqued my interest since the first week, and I am really happy to see that you guys made it to the top 15. Your work seems to be improving every week, kudos!
Very funny; that is my rating for this video after careful consideration and review so that I might meet the one hundred character requirement and earn another merit badge in the comedy coup competition.
I'm having "Down with clothes" put on my grave stone.....
i feel like i've seen this before
Interesting concept. When does this get funny?
this is quite similar to several other plots out there. some of the ideas are funny but do not seem original. maybe things will progress in a more interesting way.
I like your idea and the concept is pretty creative. However, my one concern is that what we see here will be significantly altered if it were to make a prime time TV slot and then I don't know how funny it would be without this type of humour.
Funny. Can easily see how you can create an actually tv series with this idea. As crunch time come I hope that you have found the support that you require to be successful. Good luck.
Well the final hours of the vote to get to the next level are approaching now so it is up to the voters now to get you there. Best wishes to you for success and nice work on getting through to the top 55 for all those able who were able to get that far.
Best one by far! keep it up dope ass world you guys keep me laughing all day every day! good luck making it to the top 15 you da bomb and so hawt!
Funny and a bit uncomfortable - my favourite.
Way to go on your comedy coup efforts to date. You have succeeded in making it to the top 55 and that is something to be proud of. Already the competition is getting tough as the quality of the competitors gets refined. Best wishes for making it to the next level.
This would definitely be a new direction for the CBC, but I don't know if they are ready to go there. Maybe as online only content? Funny, but a little rough for what I watch CBC for.
This is a pretty funny idea! You guys are brave for waltzin around in your birthday suits! Did that cause alot of upset?? I think the concept is funny just found it a bit crass, but It looked like you had a lot of fun puttin it together! I loved the cop takin down the lippy nudist - he didn't stand a chance.
I love this. It's updating the dinosaured age faux-news at the CBC. Seriously, does anyone under 50 find The Hour Has 22 Minutes or Rick Mercer funny? Both shows had their time and place, but it's time to make something for the next generation.
If CBC had a edgy spin off network like Fox has FX or FXX or whatever, then yeah, maybe I could see this being picked up but I think a certain conservative prime minister who couldn't handle Holy Fuck, would surely flip his shit if he saw that CBC was supporting anything like this, hahah
haha i love your style even if the humor is pretty hard. Not that i dont like it, but for a woman like me... Anyway keep the dream alive!!!
The set up of a doc news team is interesting and the "reality" portion is an intriguing add-on. Some of the humor is just too reliant on gross out jokes.
Enjoyed the production value and the editing especially. Can't say I actually laughed out loud but that doesn't mean it wasn't funny. Best of luck
Edgy, fun, bold - great style. News satire is vital to a healthy society. Hopefully you will dance on the fine line of truth and let us have it. ...can be an effective tool as well as great entertainment. Keep up the good work! j.
I'm on board to see the first Canadian "Daily Show" esque, or any satire that is heavy on the edge of offensive. You guys got a good thing going.
ok lets all be honest here, can, vice, cvc, ctv, fox news, all that other bullshit just don't give us the stories we wanna here, I've been waiting for months to get any updates on the isis bucket challenge and final;lllllyyyy a fucken news channel that gives a damn, dope ass world can give me an old fashioned anytime.
you kids are so crazy! i definitely am interested although i wonder if it's too vulgar. not to be a prude though. haha. i also am concerned that the onion has already got this kinda thing covered. how do you differentiate yourselves? oh well, i'm curious to see more!
This is a dope ass concept with some dope ass acting and some dope ass...asses and some dope ass news and some dope ass dopeness and some dope ass dope dopeness with a side of dope flavored dope. In all seriousness though, dope.
i'm not offended by anything but i don't know if this is something the CBC would really go with, could totally see you guys on adult swim comedy channel type stuff.
Hilarious! I think I get what it's about? But even if I don't I still think it's funny! Good luck!!!
this video was well done. It definitely showed how your show will be different and interesting. This show looks cutting edge but not sure how funny it will be.
sorry, didn't work for me!
Hahahaha I like this idea, do you guys have a bunch of “secretive news stories” lined up or do you plan to have it work more as an improve type of show? I like the name its pretty fun to say “dope ass world” are you guys at all worried about anyone being offended by the some of the content? (Obviously not enough to keep you guys out of the top 50 lol), then again this is Canada and people are less readily offended here than most other places. Either way I hope you guys make into the top 15 you definitely deserve it. Good Luck!!
Peace and Love
The Dookie Squad Team
Funny but not for tv
Not very funny; too risqué for prime time television. Gay rights, animal rights, and an assortment of other folks will probably petition to get your show completely off the air waves.
I don't like this one…but Hey..I never watch TV anyway. I find it too aggressive to be funny…but keep getting naked and masterbating…seems to be working for ya!
Seriously funny!!! I'm looking forward to watching more. 'Matter of fact... I'm gonna watch some more right now! Nice work. I hope Kong made it. I mean got up, I mean recovered, I mean... Umm I hafta go phone my sponsor now... ;)
You guys are rad! totally original and killing it overall. huge bosses with the largest hogs in this contest! f**k yah! and that Ryan Prizant, don't even get me started! HE'S SOOOOO DREAMY! I totally would like to tap that!
Great stuff coming out of Montreal and this is one of them! Chris Sandiford is one VERY funny dude so i hope to see more of him in the future. Great video to differentiate yourselves. Good luck in future weeks!
I was disappointed with this video. I didn't find the jokes as funny and they continue to be too racy, too much for CBC. Having said that, I still think this is one of the top projects on here.
Dope Ass World makes another Dope Ass Video. Good job guys! You're concept is more clear with each video. I like how you guys blend the real with the unreal lol. Keep you the great work. Good Luck!
Canada needs this
you guys get me every time!!!! Great concept and great gags, I loved the gayrilla and where can i sign up to be a suburban nudist? can't wait to see what comes next. keep it up guys.!!
GREAT concet, but idk, this just doesnt seem funny enough
Looks good guys! Didn't see the ending coming...
I am not quite sure where I stand on this. It is interesting but I am not laughing out loud. It makes a bit uncomfortable. Keep up the writing.
I found this video entertaining but on the offensive side. Not really one that I wish to see on the TV.
The production values on this are really good. I like the humour but having a hard time imagining it go for half an hour straight without becoming droll. Maybe I'm wrong though! I could see this project going the distance.
Interesting stuff, not your regular news show that's for sure. I'm wondering what the format would be for a full 30-min episode! Pretty wild, that's for sure!
easily the best show idea in this comp, if they don't win I'm poring hot cinnamon on my chest.... is hit cinnamon a thing?
No Daniel, I don't think it is, but from the looks of your profile pic, it seems as if you may be of Moroccan decent and Hot Cous Cous is definitely "a thing"
F&@$ing love you guys... I'ma come and visit.
Love your work :D
"This is That" makes it to TV, so DAW ain't original. Still, love that radio show. This could be good, too, Crude is okay, but too often the easy way to a laugh. Nudity, jerking off, sure, but edgy don't always gotta be dirty. More smart - less smut.
The production value is some of the best in the competition but a lot of the humour is pretty crude, relying on swear words and nudity. Get some smarter jokes in here and I'm fully on board. Hope you guys keep going!
Good scenes, fast paced and lots shocker laughs, can't wait to see more, good
The pros loved you so I took a peek. Lots of energy. Love the camera work, the Rick Mercer rant look. Very nice. Shocking material. But the shock made me laugh out loud.
So so inappropriate...just the way I like it! Hilarious!
You guy's have balls to diss the onion and the daily show in the opening 20 seconds of your video. Not sure I agree, but if this project's got one thing, it's balls. big funny balls. Production quality on your video's are great too, can't wait to see more.
wow, i really can't find any negative point to say about this project at all. looking forward to see whats in the box ! good luck
your stuff looks professional and it looks like your have a lot of content. Current events spun comedically is more of my thing but you did make it clear you were going for a pseudo realistic mockumentary style. HAHAHA, they told you to "BOUNCE!"
I laughed heartily, out loud! You guys are really funny. I really liked the gay gorillas! I have seen the nude protest type sketch before. Keep up the good work. I'll be watching.
Cool concept guys!
This was really clever and different. I wasn't drawn to the title as much as others although it did make me curious. The gay-rilla was very funny and the nudest bit. The cinematography was well. The acting was very good as well
Really enjoy the stories you construct and the approach you take to cover it. Not sure I like the prank element of the show felt a bit like Just for Laughs Gags to me. But the gorilla masturbation was pure gold. Nothing funnier than inter-species hand jobs
Two in a row! Well deserved.
Great work guys!!! I believe in you. :D ... but seriously love the show!!!
not really my kind of clever comedy, but the antics sure could pack a punch of funny! Be sure to make your faux-news stories more relative to current events and they will definitely get people laughing!
I really like your concept and how you plan on doing it! It looks very creative and interesting and pretty hilarious! I will continue to follow you guys, best of luck out there!
what is this, TURKEY TUESDAY? Cuz you guys make me want to live in thanksgiving town forever! I loved all the naked sh*t and I want you in the top 50 and topper. Keep up the good 'travail'
Vice been itching to get parodied
It's not a comedy show on CBC you guys need, it's a prime time slot on CNN!
I've really enjoyed the videos you guys have been putting out so far; however, this one has me questioning whether CBC is the right fit for the show. You guys have been hard-hitting and unique right from the the start. I'd love to see what you could come up with if you had to tone it down.
Great video guys! Laughed my butt off as usual! Smart and cray cray. Stay fly! #TeamCharlieandYoni
As humour is a personal thing I judge a project as to whether I believe it can appeal to a wide enough CBC audience base to attract more than a niche market commercial sponsor and with evidence of potential to generate a weekly series worth of material. Good luck but it’s not for me.
Total wild and crazy bunch!! The best projects have been definitely coming out of Quebec.. Good luck with the rest of the competition....
Your videos are hilarious! I laughed so hard at the naked protestors. The production on this is great. Best of luck to your crew for the rest of the competition.
what is this, fajita fridays? good work!
Great videos, I enjoy the concept of joke news but you guys take it to another level!! Cannot wait to see more!!
I have enjoyed all your videos guys! You do a great job of high end stuff in the week allowed. Nice creativity.
Really enjoyed your pacing.. Naked people getting tackled by cops is it possible to not laugh at that
Always love your videos! Very fast paced and entertaining! Good luck on making the top 50! Way to rep MTL!
wow, good job ! tech and content wise, both r eexcellent ! good luck !
Well when I watched this video the term "different" did IMMEDIATELY spring to mind! I sure do love my pseudo-pranks blending seamlessly with the narrative. This looks like it could be genuinely awesome, looking forward to more
that's one lucky Gayrilla!
Dope Ass Video production guys! We also really thought your meet the team video was so well done. Such a clever was to get out a lot of information in such little time! 90 seconds is not enough! You guys are pros! Cheers--Charlie and Yoni.
Good ! great production !
Great production value, product value is important, and you guys nailed it. So many options for different stories here. very well done.
Team to beat... impressive stuff.
Wow, couldn't stop laughing! I know how those nudists feel......
The production value in this group is great but I also find this for the most part gross and offensive. I know comedy coup doesn't want groups to censor themselves, but really? Jacking off a "gay gorilla"? Why?
The production value is so happening and you guys know your show inside and out. One of my favourite shows and I'm sure it will just keep getting better.
This project makes me feel like a scared little PG boy! Way to fuck shit up!!
Slick looking production that made me laugh out loud and gape with shock and/or awe. Great energy and characterizations. Held my attention from start to finish and left me wanting more. Profanity was creatively worded. Gayrilla segment was my fave and was relieved when he was "released" at the hospital. Would be a worthy addition to the noble tradition of satirical news broadcasts. Took edgy to the rim and peeked over and winked. Don't know if C.B.C. would allow a clip of people getting stoned off shit but they should. Looking forward to more but 'til then I'll watch this again. Great, great work and you certainly differentiated yourselves from the meeker in the pack.
This is one of my favorite projects for sure!! The production is fantastic. I'm really glad to see that your story scope goes beyond Isis and other terrorist jokes, and if those were real thugs on the street that you were trying to buy poo off of, you sir, have big brass ones! Funny stuff for sure!!
The production value is still great but you're losing me with the jokes. This was one of my favourite shows at first but now after the third week I'm starting to find the jokes repetitive with not enough substance
Framework is there but story lines need more development and substance to enable production of hmour that the audience can relate to.....
wow, you guys are skilled, all 3 videos you put out were quite solid; well shooting and editing wise. i didn't find the teaser funny though, kinda little too stereotype for me; but solid skill indeed
it is a tough call ! i like how you guys shot the video and effort you put into shooting and editing the video
but in terms of content, i think it doesn't really feel like prime time show, but def has a good production value
Nice production value guys, How do you guys make churn em out like that? Did you actually find and sell a pair of authentic Gay-rillas for funding?
Very creative and good quality. I did find the content to perhaps push too far when the prize is for a prime time slot. it is evident a lot of effort went into the making, but again, content might be better suited for later viewing. Good luck
I did enjoy the creativity that was in your second video, but the humour eludes me in your first and third videos. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not sure if some of this material is fit for prime time TV. Good luck with the competition, you guys should be proud at being picked as a favourite!
First, let me stress how impressed I am with your videos. Each production makes an immediate impression. It looks effortless and that takes work. This feels professional from top to bottom. The casting is spot on. The creativity to make it look like you are bringing us around the world is working. It’s filmmaking magic. The vision is clear, the pace is tight. You’re in top form.
I've got some more thoughts I have decided to direct message you about.
Jared FTW! Love the mix of mocku-drama... Excited to see more!
This team is on fire!! Also, always nice to bring important ecological issues to the forefront... Save the Gay Gorillas!
This looks awesome. Hope you guys make it through to the end. Good job at letting us know where you are going with this show. Not many people did that this week.
Keeping with the Chris Morris legacy! Sweet! Maybe a little less yelling, though?...
Let me be the one to say that you guys rock and have definitely come up with an amazing premise that some of the more crazy and wild people of our generation are totally on board with. Great premises, awesome jokes! See you guys in the next round for sure.
I’m on the fence. I think some of it is hilarious and out there and sometimes it goes a bit too far. I love the diversity of the show (an that you’re in Montreal!) but I don’t know if it might be a bit too brazen for prime time? But that might just be me, I am easily embarrassed and kept checking behind me to see that no one was walking by my desk while watching this video. I really shouldn’t watch comedy coup at work…
You guys def have the skill set to produce a show, however, I'm not a big fan of the tone; Maybe it is just me, too old for prime time show
Humor seems super low-brow for the most part (not that there's anything wrong with low-brow humor!). The production quality is pretty impressive if you shot this within the past week or so though. The one joke that's stuck with me throughout this whole competition was the sweatshop that was run by a kid; the more unexpected humor like that you can come up with, the stronger I think your show will be. But it's cool that you're not afraid to branch out into other countries that the average Canadian might otherwise be unfamiliar with. I also think integrating real people on the street could be really interesting (given that you're a "news" show), though the whole "pranking" dangerous people in alleys and almost getting beaten up has been done a million times on YouTube already. Stick to your ingenuity and I can see Dope Ass World going far in this competition. Good luck guys!
Been watching you guys since pros pick, videos keep getting better. Looking forward to seeing what you dudes do in future, great work yo!
Cam know's these guys!!! hahaha small world!!!
The production is amazing and the videos are hilarious - Keep it up!!
That's one lucky Gayrilla!
Perhaps you should keep your news UNDER reported??
I like how hen I feel you have pushed one envelope wide open you just grab another one. Keep it rolling
you guys def have very good skills there, but don't find its funny :(
although it makes me laugh incredibly hard, i wonder if it's too extreme/irreverent for CBC? I hope not! keep em coming boys
Jesus I'm so glad you didn't get stabbed in the throat by those drug dealers. I rewatched that part 3 times to see how close to a beating you almost came. But yes, hilarious stuff. A nice mix of Chive and Tom Green.
Okay I want to move to Quebec and work with you guys ..
The tone seems really aggressive.
Hey guys, I'm Rachel from "Table Scraps". I love your concept and your videos make me laugh! Keep up the great work! Hope you make it to the top 50! Cheers.
I just don't find it funny. It seems like not the best prank humour mixed with a combination of Tosh.0 and like a dumb version of the onion or something? I'm just not sure I get... sorry!!
Clothing = Murder! Well done booya! And shut up Jared!
Definitely one of the top 50 gorilla jack-off techniques I've seen.
Dope ass World is Crushing this competition
