FLICKERS-TV is fast-paced comedy for today's sexy audience. Quick bites of sketches, characters, parodies, public domain movies and other stuff too. We flick to the best parts of what you're not watching. None of the boring stuff! The pilot features "Weird Al" Yankovic, Kid Nappa, Barbara Payton, and Raymond Burr's hands. No kiddin'.

Synopsis

FLICKERS-TV is comedy for today's young, internet savvy audience. We shoot sketches, character pieces and parodies with fantastic celebrity guests, add in some public domain footage, then flick by only the funniest bits of each.

While flicking channels for you we might catch the beginning of one program and the middle of another. We'll see awkward cooking shows, public-access call-ins, breaking news and strange ads. We'll see a trailer for a terrible new sci-fi movie and scenes from a REALLY terrible old one.

It's the ideal way to package new, fast-paced sketch comedy. The only limits are... could it be on TV?

Showrunner, Talent

Best known for starring in MuchMusic’s Video on Trial and its spin-offs, Ron has many credits as a writer (22 Minutes, Little Mosque), actor (NBC's The Firm, Medium Raw) and producer (Meet the Family, This Movie Sucks!). He’s won the Tim Sims & 11 Canadian Comedy Awards. Named 2012's Best Male Stand-up he's done Last Comic Standing, Debaters, JFL, Winnipeg & Halifax Fests.

Igor Alves

Director of Photography, Marketing / Social

Producer, Director, Cinematographer & Film Industry Blogger.
Igor started as a Gaffer & Cinematographer and quickly moved up in the Toronto industry.

In early 2012, Igor co-created HowToFilmSchool.com, a film blog and learning centre for filmmakers. Half a million hits later, HTFS is still going strong.
In 2013, Igor began producing & directing for local TV companies

I love the manatee! And I can't get the weather song out of my head.

I would like to see another sketch show on TV. I like this concept because so many sketch show sketches get dragged out too long and lose the funny.
