Synopsis

A late night sketch comedy with a unique twist on humour. Based in St. John's Newfoundland, "Hit with a Rock" displays the skill and talents of local actors and musicians of those living here. Our goal is to expose the world to our culture and comedy in the strangest ways possible.

Matthew Stirling

Producer, Marketing / Social

Born and raised in Pasadena Newfoundland, a small town kid with some deep media roots. Happy and excited about new avenues to create and grow, I have travelled abroad, took risks and learned from my mistakes. Humbled by opportunities and chances to learn new things. I smile too much and speak my mind while making the most of any situation.

Huan Yu

Showrunner, Marketing / Social

Huan has studied film and theater at Memorial University of Newfoundland in the past 2 years; she has great passion in creating original art works as well as encouraging young artists in the community. She has done a few theater shows now in the past 2 years, and now she is working with her fellow young artist to bring the community project onto the big screen

Aaron Hickey

Writer, Talent

I am an actor/writer who has been involved with the Hit with a Rock Comedy troup for several years now. I have performed with the group in live stage productions as well as in many of our films and video skits. I have written the majority of the groups material and have loved every minute of being involved with this very talented and hilarious group of people

I really love the name Hit With A Rock. From what I can tell, it's like Beachcombers meets Seinfeld with a little bit of The Office mixed into one, but I'd love to see a few more missions to get a better understanding of where you're going to go with it.

Funny. Loved the short, quick shots in the clip. Able to show a lot of different personalities in a quirky but put together piece. I love Newfoundland.

I'm a little biased because I got to have a tiny part in a couple of skits before I went back to teaching...but... I know how hard this group works, how talented they are and how funny/quirky the show is. I was gonna be modest and give it a 9 but I really think it deserves to be seen so...10 it's a 10. :)

It's good to see more comedy happening within Newfoundland and Labrador! Hit With A Rock promises what every comedy group should aim to achieve: laughs, entertainment, and yet, intelligent design/writing with evocative subject-matter. Keep going guys!

Are you allowed a longer trailer? If so, edit a longer commercial with more of your stuff! I know I've seen a few of your videos online, so make the best of the time you have! I really like the execution on the hot-dog sketch; it gets rather silly and I hope every other sketch holds up as well. You guys are going to be facing stiff competition, because sketch comedy is a broad swathe. So keep on your toes and good luck - you're way better than the other sketch-comedy offering from NL!

Hit With A Rock be all like, "We don't need to use the 90 seconds, bishes!" Five out of five hotdogs for brevity. :)
