Recording studio wizard starts over in his hometown where it turns out everyone wants to be a star.
View ProjectWow, 4 differentiators. 1. Set in a recording studio, the music rocks & drives plot. 2. 60’s flowerchild gone to seed is overdue & so out, she’s back in with free-love, weed and old music. 3. Fish-out-of-water failed LA music producer who retreated to his Canadian hometown. 4. Each episode is an entry in studio intern Bridget’s secret “vlog”. Tri-generations nurtures endless comedic conflict.
Fave 37 Views 626Hey…fellow Nova Scotian in the room. You guys are great. I had no idea there was a studio in shelburne…but now I know where I want to record my next comedy album. Great stuff! Here's to being there in the top 50…good luck!

The new Bridget rocks! I miss the old Bridget a bit... Oh well we did get Natalie Lynn and Band! Ooh That Ryan! ...not to mention Garrett! I had no idea that I had to have seen tits before...
Love the unique setting of your show. Based on real people. There is so much writing potential. Love it keep it up
Looks funny, like the fact you have local musicians but will they take away from the comedy value? Otherwise I think the ideas great
Congrats on making it to the top 55 and good luck. I have lived in many different places inside of Canada and was impressed by how much support Shelburne came out and provided you in this video.
C'mon. This project is awesome. Full of comic potential. 3 generations. And lets face it, everybody DOES want to be a star. This is worth a top 15, in my opinion.
I like lots of stuff in there. Lots of good ideas, some not bad acting. A little raw around the edges in terms of production but it looks like you could make it work. Good luck.
I like the Nathan character. He is very plausible and can be subjected to many humorous events.
Not only with Grandma being so darn hip, but Bridget who is very cute but needs to get out her bedroom. Lots of pranks in the studio and outside scenes could be happening out on the wharf.
Guys could be recorded singing ole time songs while casting (fishing) for Mackerel off the wharf.
Recording of old kids rhymes like row row row your boat merrily merrily merrily all along da wharf.
Or having a group of kids trying tongue twisters before going in to record a song.
I'm not a writer, but I have funny ideas. I sure hope to see this Scratch Tracks show happen.
I love how your sitcom is featuring local musicians. It is a great concept and will help to showcase the talent of the south shore of Nova Scotia! Your creativity is fabulous and you deserve to be in the top 5. Keep the the great work.
Love your premise. I helped build a small recording studio in my little town of under 100 people. Lots of potential material, eh? Royal - Littleton Falls Settler Village.
good work for your project. it is charming but unfortunately i dont find it really that funny and think that the quality is a bit poor. hope to see the project brought to a next level
A pretty cute concept that I think really is due to the wacky grandma.I'm just not sure if I'm convinced that the she carry the show on her own since she's clearly the funniest part.
Love the emphasis on story line and characterization. That' the kind of thing that makes people tune in and keep coming back week after week.
I like your concept.. it seems like there would be a lot of potential for multiple seasons if done correctly. It is different enough from what I've seen out there to be interesting. All the best and good luck moving forward!
I like the concept and as an east coaster (and a huge music fan) I have to support this project wholeheartedly! I think the concept is original enough to have some legs going forward. Cheers!
Ah Grandma. This has got a lot of potential. Cool to see how these characters will run with it. Plenty of room for hilarious when you get three generations together under one roof. I liked the music and want to here more from where that's coming from. Good luck!
The whole concept rocks! Pick any of the musicians that I know and you've got some great stories that'll keep a comedy series going for quite a while. Well done, you folks. Love grandma a lot.
ha ha ha naked grandma hugs! There's no doubt this tri-generational show would have some hilarious bits!
Great concept! I like the fact that you have three generations to draw creative ideas from, the possibilities are endless. I especially love Grandma Williams, I can totally relate to her! lol
Great concept! Keep it up!
I have watched and follow your project. I like the music, the team, but not sure about the grandma. Why does she have to be so 'free spirited'! Don't get me wrong we like grandmas. I am sure your show would have lot's of music which everyone loves! Good luck with your project!
Correct me, if I'm wrong. But did she just threaten to kill me, if I watch it? LoL.
So far so good. Creative, funky, cast of characters and story lines. Great music - hope t hear some variety as the show develops. The music clip occupied some 52 seconds of the audio and video portion of a 140 second comedy clip. Undoubtedly the music contributes to the story but there may be a trade off with using more of the scarce time for comedy... just asking? Want to encourage you all. This is great fun.
I can hardly wait to see what grandma will be like when She grows up! and, Bridget's diary needs to talk about Bridget's relationships....
it is cool, I look forward to see more. Good luck guys.
Another decent team from the maritimes, I liked it, seem interesting enough, hope to see ya's in the top 50
Don;t worry about production quality guys! its all about the concept and the dream. If you get picked up then you will have all the funds you need to make the best show you can! Good luck :)
Not too shabby my friends. I think you can probably bring a new light to this idea and be a little more creative with it as well. Also, production quality definitely needs some more improvement but that is just my opinion. Good luck on the future endeavours.
Some great work.
Good tunes. Go Grandma.
Way to go! Awesome concept… Love it!
really good musical talent in this week 3 video!
I want to be like Grandma when I grow up. More Scratch Tracks, please.
Nathon's studio rocks
Great concept, wonderful idea for introduction of characters. Definately a show I would like to watch. Keep it real!
Haha, this is a great concept. I really like the music, and the whole "vlog" idea is awesome. I would work on getting more genuine emotion from the girl doing the vlogs, but otherwise you're on to something!
Brilliant concept.
Scratch Tracks has so much potential!
Wow, awesome music! Looking forward to more of that. The execution needs a little better comedic timing.
Go east coast! I thought the music was great. Love a good combination of awesome tunes and funny jokes. Keep it coming!
Yes East Coast representation! Great music and premise.
I already wish I could watch!
You guys are really funny!
Who knew?! ;-)
Looking forward to you guys making top 50 and showcasing what the east coast can bring to the table
Nice work!
Awesome, very funny! I look forward to seeing more of Scratch Tracks!
Great work everyone, can't wait to keep seeing more Scratch Tracks!
Very plucky performance, Tatum...
Your sitcom idea looks promising, but your intern character comes across more like a younger teen sister rather than someone with a professional interest.
Sweet! Loving everything about scratch tracks studio - Grandma, the music, the diary, keep it up!!
Tapping into the endless amount of talented music in this country is a great idea. Would like to see more of the actual characters interacting to get a better idea of the overall concept.
Holy Shit!
Everything from the 60s to the 14s....and that's not just the characters' ages....:) Liking Scratch Tracks a lot so far. Would love to see more....well maybe not literally more grandma....Go guys!
Hey…fellow Nova Scotian in the room. You guys are great. I had no idea there was a studio in shelburne…but now I know where I want to record my next comedy album. Great stuff! Here's to being there in the top 50…good luck!
Love Grandma and loved the music too!
Cool studio run by cool Alex Buchanan. Real name - HarbourTone Studios. Great place. Great guy. Talented too. Good luck yourself, Joanne. Good to see NS actors out there, pushing the limits and making it happen. If this doesn't pan out, I see a good concept for the stage.
Great concept, good introductions to characters. This is definately a show I would like to watch. Keep it real!
Liking the character development and really looking forward to the opportunity to see the musical talent that a series like this could showcase. Something for everyone.
Huge fan of Canadian music so I am digging this. The characters are interesting. Gramdma seems hip and her son, something shady about him but I like it. The young girl is cool, although I haven't quite figured out her role in the series yet. Look forward to seeing her character develop. PS: Great band!
the world could do with more people like Grandma right now
with clothes on is fine too....
being a huge music lover myself, and being someone that loves music more than other types of art, this video is just fantastic, and endearing and just well…just keep up the good work you guys
Great job!! Wishing you much success!
Great to see some real talent at Scratch Tracks Studios - Check out Natalie Lynn's music! ...and Grandma...oh Grandma....
I love the way the characters are beginning to develop. The nudist, dope-smoking grandma could definitely be the focus of future episodes. All the characters seem engaging in one way or another and provide connecting points for a large target audience. Fertile ground … I want more!
I can kind of relate to this show:)
Nathan and Grandma deserve each other
I'm still with this premise, just want to know more about Bridget, see what makes her tick and how that is going to make me laugh more. She needs some flushing out but the bands coming to granma's basement studio, I picture granma releasing an album that changes the course of musical history. Good luck guys!
Wish you could see our bible, Alain. Bridget's all there - starts out as the guide at the Nathan Williams Museum, she's tough, sassy, ambitious tomboy. Hopes to use her job at Nathan's studio to slingshot her way out of this "middle of nowhere, turn left town." Love the Granny album idea. duly noted.
intriguing mix of real over the top (funny) grandma and real (good) music. Getting curious about Nathan's backstory . . . just saying.
Wish you could see our bible and pilot script. He's got lots. We've got him crashing in LA, then spending some time on the street, and wheeling a shopping cart full of junk back home to a hero's welcome.
Good job guys!
LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Shameless Grandma!
I find your concept very unique and interesting, and it also definitely shows potential as a series. I would have just liked to have seen more jokes throughout your videos as it is a comedy competition and you need to show that you don't just have a good concept but you can be funny too. Good luck with the competition guys!
Three generations = lots of opportunities for miscommunication and laughs. Good music in the studio, too!
Wow! Clearly a lot of effort and thought has gone into this.... and multiple story lines ads depth to the production.... Can hardly wait for more....
The plot thickens and gets more hilarious with each clip. You are taking us on one of those amusement rides you just don't want to get off of! Great music and use of it! Love the characters and the development of each as you progress. How can you not love Grandma?! Looking forward to seeing what new character & plot twist is up next. Keep rocking it out!
Gets your attention right away, performance was convincing, great sound ,lightning and especially choice of music.
MaryLou, you missed your calling! This project becomes more hilarious with each episode. I cringe wondering what is coming next but get over it quickly. Great job "team" I look forward to future shenanigans ... BRING THEM ON!!
WTG Scratch Tracks!
Good work! Love Grandma. Best of luck
Great work
I love it!!
This just keeps getting better and better. Great music .Grandma is the best. Great job everyone. Can't wait to see more. Keep up the good work!!
Keep going guys! You'll get there. Kudos to everyone concerned and love Grandma! Looking forward to some great music too!
Love the way the pathos and comedy are intertwined with individual dreams, societies preconceptions and each individuals personal journey; Grandma totally at home in her skin in all ways, the struggle [ and humour ] of the lead - did 'he ' fail ' in an artificial world ? Or is success about happiness within? The Vlogger who is the conscious observer representing her own views and acting as the collective viewer perhaps. This has characters you love, you recognize, you can empathize with and wince at. Having the potential to spin in so many directions, seriously raising questions about societies artificial values whilst presenting a totally watchable, enjoyable and entertaining program. The addition of real live, unique music, acting as a showcase is pure genius and another delight for the senses LOVE IT.
really enjoying the teasers so far. The characters are believable and everyone knows someone like these people, esp. in small towns. The original music by local artists is also an excellent venue for getting their names better known. I am looking forward to more of the same in the coming weeks. oh, and grandma rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE IT :-) awesome idea and AWESOME peeps - and the music whoo hoo our place just ROCKS :-)
Granny as we've never seen her, LOL! Great video of Natalie Lynn and her band, too! I really like the way music is interspersed with the interplay between the characters. The promise of having new, original music in each episode is part of what sets this concept apart. But the characters are quite remarkable, as well. Granny and Nathan's interactions are a hoot!
love love love. top notch
Great job...and great concept. Wishing you much success! Go Scratch Tracks!
Nathan and Grandma deserve each other!
Grannie, Grannie, Grannie.... what are we going to do with you?!? Kick it up another notch and take it out to the golf course for the next shoot....If you want real humour with this crew,
Every time I watch a new submission I smile. Keep them coming Scratch Tracks.
I absolutely LOVE Grandma! Hilarious! :)
Real people ... real happinings .. gotta wonder what's coming next (can't wait) ... an ace is an ace and a spade is a spade. Love it ... super super stuff. "Grand- ma" hmmm .... definitely not mine ... Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Don't forget to favour each of our videos and each of our photos.
Hilarious!
I love the fact that you guys never drop the ball. You keep showing your talents and concept by doing rather than describing. It keeps the viewer curious and interested. FANtastic job!!
P.S. Grandma makes me smile...a lot.
Thanks Lisa. Nice observations. Show, don't tell... rule #1 for the writer.
Thanks sooooo much to our friends who volunteered throughout this process to put themselves out there on film, on the web because they believe in the richness and potential for this concept... and to have fun. Thanks Ed Trevors (Nathan), Mary Lou Keith (Grandma - her first acting gig), Tatum Arcon (Bridget), Natalie Lynn (the singer), Ryan Perry (drummer) and Garrett van Buskirk (bass). And all the rest of you from pervious shoots,
Mary Lou Keith did a great job for being her first time
This show has a funny concept. The stories in the studio and in Grandmas house could be very funny and cover a large range of subject matter.
Thanks Eugene. That's exactly what we're hoping the judges notice, that our concept has LOADS of potential for character development & comic conflict, endless storylines and surprising season arcs.
Really appreciated the focus on character and story in this content. It is cool to see the world on your show illustrate itself so fully! Thanks so much!
Thanks Ryan. We're all about story & character. We think of our pitch as a classic sitcom with several new angles. So glad you noticed what we're after - character, story and the best soundtracks anywhere.
