Synopsis

THE TROUPE: a half hour sketch comedy/sitcom hybrid that takes us behind-the-scenes with a sketch comedy troupe in the Canadian prairies.

"When do you give up on a dream?" "What should I do with my life?" We follow the members of the Troupe as they grapple with questions of career, money, family, love and approaching (and surpassing) 30—in their lives and in their sketches about their lives. We follow the sketches from pitch, to workshopping, to development and filming—and the comedians from triumph, to failure, to additional failure.

Our pilot episode: "The Contest.” The Troupe vies to win an internet-based comedy competition to have their shot at validation.

Great energy. One participant has a habit of looking at camera instead of staying in character. Concept is not as creative as some of the other groups.
