A young man suffering from insomnia wanders through Toronto after dark and sees that he's not alone.
View ProjectBREAKING NEWS on CB48!
Fave 57 Views 561I'm just going through all of the videos right now (NEED THOSE VOTES, MAN), and I'd say this one was either the second best video this week, or the best. You were pitching to the media, explaining how the show was unique, why it should get attention, AND you were funny. Not easy to pull all that off at once. Great job! Good luck with the Top 15.

The videos from this project are well made. This looks like it could have a lot of potential as a show and I'd like to see more! keep up the good work :)
Like the idea, something new... People can relate to the insomnia part, but the adventures that occur after dark is another story... Could be some good and adventurous story lines there.
Vvery funny concept and out there comedy. Hopring you guys have more and funnier videos in the future.
I enjoy how ridiculous this is. I like the idea of somehow linking all the sketches together. I surely enjoy a bit of randomness and unorthodoxly not always “serving the story” too... but I think non-related sketches should be used sparingly.
epicly epic nothin like it. i really appreciate what you're doing here. youve got serious game and i have become a big admirer. you deserve to win this contest. you are definitely welcome to entertain me any time of the year. keep it up and be the people youve always wanted to be.
Great job you guys! Funny and well done! Good luck with this week's Flip It mission! Can't wait to see your new content and I will totally check this project out again this week!
Amazing work. super funny stuff and I truly believe you guys will be top 15 with some other great teams. All the hardwork and dedication this team have presented is extremely outstanding. Go team
Great work – looks like this project has a lot of potential to make it to the top 15. Looking forward to your week 6 submission!! Wasn't wild about week 1 but your week 5 is great.
Congratulations on making the top fifty five and good luck tomorrow night. I thought your video was pretty good and I wish you well. Keep moving along And good luck to this team.
Congratulations on Top 55! Top 15 deserved! This team is funny, funny, funny! Teamwork is great..............lots of potential here! Keep up the great work! Videos are very well done.
like the pacing of the show, some funny sketches. Has the potential to being funny sketch show. Might have a challenge in not having a broader audience if humor references a lot of things from Toronto and not Canada, but a few can't hurt.
I like Shannon Gs idea of the coffee mugs. Perhaps a t shirt. Heck, even a plaque would be deserved at this point. I am really digging how much exposure concepts like these are getting. Best of luck guys.
We're digging the exposure, too, Travis! This has been an epic five weeks for CanCon! It's so great to see all the positive comments from new fans who have never seen us perform before.
The big multi person mayor was funny. Loved the spit take at the end! Spiderman as a photographer and lots of little details. Nicely done and I understand what you are doing from this one video alone. The city of Toronto is a great setting with lots of interest and comic potential. Good luck.
Thank you, Raeann!
Quite the competition from the east to the west coast and such an excellent group of participants makes it hard to pick just 15. I hope CBC gives you each a coffee mug or something for getting to the top 55. Best wishes to all.
I highly doubt it, Shannon. All the CBC has given us so far is the opportunity of a lifetime.
Love this video, and loved the lasagna at the voting party! Thanks Cathy, good luck Ashley! Great video!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the lasagna, Julia!
This is a good video with a clear explanation of the show's premise, some laughs, and a few points about why people should support the project. Certainly a strong video, and a good example of how to build hype.
Thank you for watching, Kyle!
Best Line of the video: five hunny thow thow ! lol! I saw that girl do a comedy show this weekend I think? Funny stuff! What a big group! $60 to do everything? amazing! Id like to see how this unfolds with the mix of scenarios.. some linking and some not. Cool project!!
THIS IS SO EXCITING FOR ME! Were you at Yuk Yuks Toronto on Saturday?
Thank you, Kelly! And you probably did see her! Ashley Moffatt is a stand-up comedian currently with Yuk Yuk's. As you saw, there and here, she is hilarious and deserves to be on television.
This is a great video my MAN. Heres hoping this team makes it because this team is spunky and sexy.
I know I'm in the minority when it comes to indie/cult comedy, but saying you're like Mr. Show doesn't do it for me. I did like the fake interview aspect of it, though. Cute, but only mild. Nothing awesome going on here.
Thanks for the comment, Justin! We're using the Mr. Show comparison to give people an idea of the format of the show with sketches running into each other and flowing seamlessly. We don't mean to say that our style of humour is neccessarily the same as theirs if that is how you took it. Check out our Week 1 Trailer to see what I mean.
Out of all the sketch comedies in the competition I think this one may have the most potential. I'm not that into sketch comedies in general but this one seems to have a different take on it, so i'm intrigued. Best of luck!
Thanks, Jezza! It's great to hear that we're not the only ones excited about our idea!
So impressed by your creativity and that you guys keep stepping it up week after week. This is a top 15 project for sure. Five Hunny Thow Thow
Thanks, Edward! We hope that you're right! Hopefully we've earned some of your votes!
It's delightful not just radiant! Designgasmed all over this! this project has some cool colours, and the neon aesthetic is just radical and dope. thanks dudes
Thanks, William! City streets at night. Our show's visual style would be amazing with the 500k budget to showcase Toronto properly.
Good job on this week's challenge. Good luck in the remainder of the competition. You have a funny concept here and hope you make it through the next round! Cheers!
Thank you, Sydney!
Toronto After Dark- Filmed in the dark. Sketches and sitcom. Keeping things busy for the audience with short attention spans. Young, diverse, and entertaining characters. Good luck with this weeks vote.
Thank you, Colleen! Hopefully we've earned some of your votes!
Ron 4ever!!
Ron puts the "ron" in Toronto.
If Jesus and Bob Marley had a baby, you'd get Toronto After Dark. These guys are absolutely incredible!
Your idea is definitely interesting. Lots happening in a Toronto after dark. Good luck
You said it, Daniela! Anything can happen in Toronto After Dark.
I had to watch this video several more times to catch everything - there is so much going on. Very funny and very clever. Love the premise of a conjoined mayor as the successor to the plus -sized Rob Ford. The little details like the red tie (a la Rob Ford?), the hand gestures from each side of the "mayor", reporter Clark Kent with his barely visible "S" under his shirt and Spiderman as a photographer. Watch it again yourself and you'll find more. The references to diversity are both funny and factual. To top it off you did a new twist on the "spit" take. It's all being done in a technically attractive and creative way on a shoestring budget. And the Hype-it events were real.
Come on CBC, are you paying attention? This bunch is brilliant
Wow, Rob! If we had a budget for a PR guy we would make you an offer! Thanks for your thoughtful comment!
Props to your ambitious and creative team this week for your, not one, but four successful Hype-It events! Toronto After Dark team, you knock it out of the park every time!
Thank you for your support, Kathleen!
Toronto Toronto Toronto. I am also trying to get my votes. Good video I like the shared tie in the press conference. The idea is appealing. Good luck to your team and maybe you will advance.
Toronto after Dark, I like your hype. The location is absolutely beautiful and the comedy material will be never-ending. All the best to you in reaching top 15. Good luck guys
Thanks for watching, Gary!
Sounds like you guys have a good, open, idea with a lot of possibilities.
We sure do, Jay! Thanks for your comment!
Very creative and well written. Photography is right on
Definitely nailed the point of the challenge and had some good jokes thrown in to boot. I personally am a small town boy living in a big city, so I'd like to see comedy that relates to that. School for comedy? I'd love to meet the guy voted class clown.
Thanks for the feedback Franco! Hopefully we'll have some more stuff to show you soon!
Interesting concept but maybe a simple google search before you name your series next time? Toronto After Dark is a genre film fest.
We know about the film festival, but we felt that nobody would confuse a film festival with a television show and "Toronto After Dark" was too perfect not to go with. Lots of media that are not related have the same title (novels, movies, video games).
In the end, no project's current title is necessarily what their final title will be if they win. That will be a decision up to CBC and if they feel that "Toronto After Dark" is problematic (due to the film festival or otherwise) then they will tell us that we have to change it. We already have a few ideas if that is the case.
Oh my goodness that giant shirt was amazing. Great props and concepts for your press video. I got a feel for the show and the team plus the humor and I saw Spider-Man. I like it all. Best of luck.
Thank you, Deanne!
Some really funny stuff happening here, especially the send up of appealing to ethnic and LGBT audiences. The absurdist quality appeals to me.
I like how well rounded it is to such an area to cover. The different skits at the same time is definitely hypable. I look forward to more cultural diversity. Who doesn't love a Philipino?
We sure do!
haha! i totes see the nuggets of comedy gold. i love the idea that you've placed restrictions on how you film by doing it all at night. lemons outta lemondade people! best of luck! you get my vote :)
Thank you so much, Jme!
Congratulations on making it to the top 55. Your use of Toronto seems to be getting the votes out but the show just hasn't made me laugh as I am just not sure I got the multiple people wearing one shirt and a giant tie.
Isthere a good place to get a shwarma after dark in toronto? not on spadina though, I don't like that street, too many weirdos. great video also.
Well if you want the BEST you are gonna have to hit Spadina for "Nora Shawarma" 141 Spadina Ave.
Otherwise you could check out Mershin's at Keele and Bloor. If you are ever up in the North York area, be sure the check out Tender Shawarma near Keele and Finch.
Actually, it's lunch time I better go grab some.
By far the most creative and funny hype video! So entertaining while still being informative, and I agree with Ben below that the team only comes across as very endearing in its self-promotion. And "five hunny thou thou" is absolute gold. Good luck TAD!
Speaking of TAD I got your theme song right here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMtvf4V9azE
I think the concept has potential, lots to work with after dark. Not sure I got the multiple people wearing one shirt and a giant tie, but it did catch me by surprise and make me chuckle, in a strange way
I was honestly not really expecting it but you guys are only picking up steam with each passing week! This Week 5 teaser might just be your best yet... easily the best in the competition. Jokes are original, well-paced, the team comes off as endearing rather than smarmy which is super difficult with self-promotion. I really feel kind of emotional right now
Wow, Ben! I'm not even sure how to respond to that! Thank you so much!
Here are my picks for the top 15, no particular order:
Human Town
Heir Heads
Depflies
Wharf Rats
Just Passing Through
Goons
Blackwater Music
Randy Justice
The Lease
Grahm Clark: Wilderness Man
Roll for Damage
Toronto After Dark
Killing It
Scratch Tracks
Dope Ass World
Some good stuff on this list. I'd seriously consider looking at Littleton Falls as well. Welcome to Tulip is also really fun.
We approve of this list.
As I am not from Toronto I guess I would not have the same feelings and interests as you guys but I did find it amuzing to say the least so good luck.
Well you know what they say, Alvin, when you assume you make a butt out of me and you. Or something to that effect. Toronto After Dark will be appeal to you no matter where you're from. Thanks for watching!
From the first week you guys have been my favorite, besides HoveLand008, which I'm in. I am a little biased, to be fair, but I have a feeling I'd be writing something like this even I wasn't forced to for votes. Great work again guys. Hope you make the next cut!
Right back at you guys! We're all a little biased so it's cool for you to say that.
Louis meets Mr. Show, I am down for that. Canada needs some good comedy so do it. congratulations on making it to top 55 and good luck on making it to the next level
Thank you, Alberta. Do you speak for your entire province? We're so down to give you some new Canadian comedy.
I thought the first weeks video was one of the funniest, but I've been losing interest as the weeks go on. There are some funny jokes still in it though.
Thanks, James. You're in the Coup as well, no? It's been hard for us to be interested in anything besides this project for the past 5 weeks, it's all we wanna do!
Toronto After Dark looks like an interesting idea and the framing device is interesting -- it seems loose enough to carry a wide range of stories. And based on the hype video, you look like the team to pull it off! Great writing, loved the wit and siight gags. This could be a crazy show!
Thanks, Don, you nailed it. Glad to have your support!
At first I thought you were a little off the wall for my liking but as you developed the premise a little more I could definitely see potential in the overlapping story lines. Curious to see more, good luck
Thank you, Lex!
This was creative! Toronto at night, that should be interesting, great team effort that is for sure. You guys seem to have lot's of fun together and I am curious as to what will come out of all this. Good luck on your project.
Stay curious, Confiance, because we always deliver. Thank you!
Sketch sitcom... cool!
This means we're cool too by association, right? Oh well, at least the show is cool. Thanks!
Love the team effort in this video, your friendship & camaraderie are evident with your humor. I also like your project theme which leaves the door wide open where story lines are concerned. Good luck !
Thanks for watching, Debbie!
Hey I am a first time viewer and I must say that i am sad that I hadn't seen you guys sooner! Love your creativity and really look forward to seeing what you guys are going to bring next round.
Thanks Stephany! Remember to vote this weekend!
I should have found you guys way sooner! It appears my team is not the only one who believes in the power of the flowing between sketches concept. Glad we're both trying to push forward the Medium!
It's okay Kajetan, you found us now. And that means our friendship will last forever. Thanks for watching!
Very creative approach to this week's challenge. Kudos for you for choosing to film everything at night. I would definitely not do well under those conditions! Good luck in the vote!
Thanks, Adam! We're up to the challenge!
I do appreciate your channelling of Rob Ford through the very large mayor. Of course, now that he's just a councillor it's a little less topical. John Tory is tall. Perhaps you could all sit on each other's shoulders and have your faces peering out of a white shirt while blowing the red tie out of the way.
The Rob/Doug Ford comparison was just a happy accident, but it does feel good to let out one last little Ford joke knowing that we won't have to hear much about them again.
I feel richer for watching this video, I have now added "five honey thou thou!" To my vocabulary. Thanks for the laugh.
And thank you for watching, Shaun!
Its clear you guys worked hard on your sell sheet, and I dig that. The video was also amusing. It could have been a little tighter, but Spiderman was a good save.
We're glad you appreciate the effort, Willy. Spiderman wasn't the only one in this video, though ;)
Funny team, funny concept, funny five hunny thou thou! Can't wait to see Toronto After Dark succeed in their quest for CBC gold! Way to go guys, you got my votes!
Thanks a milli mill, Laura! We're glad you liked it!
Great job guys and congratulations on making it to week 5, looking forward to seeing what week 6 brings. Best of luck
Thanks, Kurtis! I'd like to personally congratulate YOU for having the dopest avatar in this whole competish. Thanks for watching!
Great video, gang! I think I speak for all the parents of this group when I say: YOU HAD BETTER MAKE TOP 15 BECAUSE I JUST SPENT MY RETIREMENT (5 hunny thou thou) ON PIZZA SO YOU CAN HYPE IT UP. Seriously though, so proud of you. Especially my little snuggems Ashley
Mom, you're an absolute hoot. I love you so much. One-hun-bill-billiii thankyous to all of our parents.
Good stuff guys, glad to see some good production value coming through in the videos and seeing the amount of people your getting involved in the week to week projects. Always hard to get a group together with short notice when everyone is working.
Yeah we definitely have some suspicious bosses at this point with the amount of times we've been calling in sick, but gathering the team for these videos has been easy since making it our #1 priority.
Good stuff. Congratulations on being in the top 55. Loving the day glow shades, the fashion statement and the random hand gestures. Spiderman taking pictures is brilliant. Drinking glass clip was great. Are you funny.....Yes. You have my vote.
Thanks heaps, Sandra! Great comments like that are our lifeblood!
I have to say, I think the funniest thing I've seen/heard throughout this entire competition was the "looking out over the water" joke from your teaser. You guys obviously have great senses of humour and I really like your concept!
Thank you so much, Ryan! The best part of this is seeing all the great ideas and talent across the country, like Campus Law!
Looks like a great project!
We're glad you think so, Chris.
This is a very inventive video. These are a very talented group of young people. They need to make it to the finals. They are so talented and their comedy special would be hilarious.
Thank you Judy! Yes! Let's do it!
Wow wow wow!! So much fun! Yahoo! Exciting! Also good.
Very cool and actually very sick and nice as well, wow!
you got something really inventive going on here. I like your ideas and this video was pretty funny. Good luck guys. 100% allegations huh
Thank you, Sathees!
This hype it video is great! It gives a clear picture of your show concept in a humorous way. Your team must be very energetic and dedicated to host so many events! Good luck with the top 15!
Thanks, Sherril! If you can't make it out to one, be sure to listen to our Internet broadcast on Saturday!
I'm just going through all of the videos right now (NEED THOSE VOTES, MAN), and I'd say this one was either the second best video this week, or the best. You were pitching to the media, explaining how the show was unique, why it should get attention, AND you were funny. Not easy to pull all that off at once. Great job! Good luck with the Top 15.
Thank you, Michael! Hopefully we earned some of your votes!
Well I laughed :) Following and good luck on the Top 15
Thank you for watching!
Toronto After Dark looks really interesting. Being filmed in the dark reminds me of The DaVinci Code, apparently they could only film at night, so as not to obstruct traffic, and allowing them to shoot inside the museums. your movie as a comedy must have a very different twist, can't wait to see more.
Diane, our CBC special would have SUCH a twist ending. Just wait and see!
Very funny video, especially random photographer Spider-Man. Very detailed and clear explaanation of the concept and why it's a unique projcect. "5 hunny thou thou" is GLORIOUS.
Thank you, Brian!
Great hype! Liked the spin you put on this challenge & want to see more of what you will do Good luck
If you want it you can have it, Belinda! Top 15 voting is this weekend!
I can't wait to see more. You are a very talented group, each week keeps getting better. I just have one question though........"are you guys funny?" ;) Good luck, hope to see you in the upcoming weeks!
Thanks for watching, and commenting, Sylena!
All night shoots is actually a great money saving and continuity saving idea that can keep the show simple and easy to maintain. Make me laugh more please.
No doubt, Sean, we will always keep the laughs coming.
I can't decide if "5 hunny thou thou" is my new favorite or least favorite thing to say. I'm torn. I do love the video though. Very funny, sweet neck tie.
Also, thanks for watching :)!
5 HUNNY THOU THOU IS MY MASTERPIECE
one of my favourites! I like this concept toronto after dark is funny, lots of humorous moments and I enjoyed watching it. I am a big self help fan myself but I think this show has great potential and best of luck to all future endeavours. Canadian comedy talent coming together is really fun to see!
*blush* thanks, Elisha!
This is my favorite group overall. You never know what will be next which is great! The Can't be looking into the water sold me from day one. Love the reporter in the trench coat. This whole thing is Golden!!! This is a group that needs to be noticed. Long live Toronto After Dark.
Thank you for saying so, Virginia. I predict we will all be chanting the last sentence of your comment when we are drunk at our Rivoli event tonight.
The concept is really original. so far, each week's video has made me laugh. Makes me want to go visit Toronto.. :)
Hopefully we make you want to visit Toronto after dark! Thank you for watching, Brianna!
Holy moly you guys. The amount of work that you're doing from week to week is awesome! Three events??? Y'all are incredible. Five hunny thou thou is perfect. Amazing editing. Knocked it out of the park yet again.
Woo! Thanks Caitlin! Home runs only!
I love the TAD (can I call it TAD? Too late!) team! Your concept is great but I think you might have a hard time stretching it over an entire season.
TAD it is! And don't worry about us being able to stretch content over a season, Grace. Ron’s story is the skeleton that holds the show together while the meat and organs and gross sinew are all random sketches happening that night in Toronto. Anything can and does happen in Toronto After Dark. The question is not if we can go a whole season, but how long to go.
Toronto After Dark seems like a cool concept, and you guys seem like you've got a lot of talent and a lot of promise! Don't totally care for another sketch comedy but interested to see where its going to go! Good luck!!
Thank you, Natalia! Hopefully we've earned some of your votes and you can satisfy that interest!
This group is great! Every mission keeps getting better and better. I like the fact that you are new and are not like some of the other groups that already have shows under their belt. This is what this competition should be about. Good luck and congrats and you will make the top 15.
Very true, Adrian. We're loving this process of developing our show, and we can't wait until it's on TV!

Funny, classy and well dressed. That's my kinda of political statement. Clearly worth voting for!
Thank you, Sandra! If elected, we will be a voice(s) of the people.
Mega mayor at the press conference was a nice touch. You guys sure know how to stretch $60. I thought this was one of your strongest weeks. The amount of diverse footage gave a good idea of the scope of an episode.
Thanks Peter! Thank you for watching.
WOW seems like a lot going on . I watched a second time to take it all in. I am not sure I would be able to follow the sketches and all. I liked the take on Rob Ford. Good luck in the next round
Thanks, Loretta. We strive to pack our show so full of content that you'll be laughing at new jokes even after the 8th or 10th viewing!
Louie meets Mr. Show MEETS Insomniac with Dave Attell (obscure reference, I know)?! Best of luck moving forward! Wait I just realized none of the sketches will take place during the day. Hm.
Thanks, Bruce! And yes, all the sketches take place at night. We can't make it too easy for ourselves! The Toronto at night setting is our only limit and it forces us to be more creative. If we have a sketch set during say, we ask "how can this be at night?" The result often adds a new element to the sketch that makes it funnier! And beyond that, the setting gives us a unique style as well.
Good for you for mentioning that some teams have a very limited budget and that you are completing all the missions on little to no funds.
Thank you, Tammy! Ours is a project fueled by passion. If you add five-hunny-thou-thou to that passion we could do anything.
Five hunny thow thow... dunno if i'm spelling that correctly. I keep on repeating it! Also, where can I get a six person shirt? That is fllllyyyyyyyyyy and errybody knows that. I'll be sending my votes your way.
This girl is super cray!
Good work on the video this week guys! Really entertaining, while being funny and providing extra information. Good luck! I'll be back to check out what you are up to on the next assignment ... congratulations!!
Thank you Janet. Hopefully we'll have more to show you in the next round.
This show deserves to be on television. It's full of unique content and funny people. I want to wish all six of you good luck and I'm really excited to see more from Toronto After Dark!! Top 15 or bust!!
Thank you, Adam!
Superb video. I like the take on Rob Ford, if that wasn't what you were going for it was still quite funny the large mayor bit. I hope to see more of your creative ideas in the future, good work with what you have done with such a small budget.
Thanks for saying so, Beth. I love that word. Superb. It's so gratifying. Stay tuned!
Very funny video and very informative about your concept to the media. I liked the clever little bit at the end with the water as well. Also congrats on the interview.
Thank you, Christina! We're glad we achieved our goal.
nice delivery :)
Yeah? Awesome! :)
This group is always making me laugh! All of you are so talented at what you do. This series is going to be so awesome if it makes it to TV. We need more shows that showcase Toronto and its diversity. Good luck, guys!
That is so great to hear, Kurtis! Thank you for your comment.
LOVED the expansive major of Toronto! This video is chock full of so many clever references to Toronto, not to mention other crazy stuff. Had to watch it over and over to catch it all and Each time I'd see something I'd missed. So impressed with your concept, writing, editing, production and ability to produce great comedy on a shoestring budget, week after week. Killer ending! Can't wait to follow you in the top 15.
Phew, THANK YOU Marilyn! Thanks for watching, and watching again!
Great idea guys, Sketch comedy with scenes that lead into each other is once again, a great idea. You have a new take on things which will help in the long run
Definitely, Jack, we're dedicated to the long run. For us, nothing gets pitched unless it has staying power.
Incredible, each second of the video includes so many tricks and funny people and ... well, I had to watch the video more then one time, to have a chance to enjoy each character and situation - after the fifth run: I'M STILL LOLING!!! "What was the question, again!?" The reporter writing without looking, with that funny face, you guys playing the reporters and impersonating the team on stage - his right hand and her left hand moving, gesticulating continuosly while the body (awesome team) used one or more of the heads to talk, argument and reason :))) Awesome (yes, I know I used the word awesome again, yes: Awesome awesome awesome!!!) ideea, awesome played, so original for me and enjoyed it all, starting with second one, all the way to 90! And again, four more times :)
Can't wait to see more of this show - see you in Top 15!
Wow. I love Bogdan.
This is the most incredible comment ever written. Thank you Bogdan. You are the Best!
Can we make this guy a "#1 Fan" T-shirt? Thanks for the support good sir!
I loooved this video! The way you incorporate everything about Toronto, like the election, into your series makes it very real and personal to the people who live here. We need this show to win! So many people would enjoy watching a show that takes place in our city of Toronto. It incorporates everything about Toronto, so anyone, and everyone, can relate!
By the way, the 'honey thou thou'.. the BEST part of this clip!
Yes, absolutely, Julia! Thank you for all the kind words!
Haha that was very funny
Perfect. Mission accomplished.
Great to see the human centipede as Mayor elect of Toronto.
It got so hot and sweaty underneath that shirt that our arm skin stuck together so yeah, you're on point, Rob.
So much fun!! Every time I watch a new clip it makes me realize that I need to get myself down to Toronto and experience the night life!! Just some good silly fun :)
Glad you had fun, Karen!!
What a great premise! So much going on in that video. Gotta see it a few times to catch everything.
Re-watchable content is the best content. Thanks, Robin!
Ah, someone got the the Ford suit joke before I could! I don't think you guys should have even mentioned that you know "small towns" as well. Toronto is large and diverse enough that you should stick with that! I'm still impressed by your transitions... very well planned!!
Thank you for watching, Samuel!
So one has to ask, is that one of former mayor Ford's suits before he slimmed down, great idea and good job. Another team stepping it up this week, Clark Kent and Spiderman, nice touches. Good luck with your HYPED events planned for this week~~
Sharp eye on this one! Thanks for the support!
This is really great, I loved this video and your premise of switching sketches from guy on the street to the car. There's a Japanese movie that does something similar (in terms of following one character then jumping to another) it's called Tampopo, check it out for other ideas of switching between characters and genres! Your video was great, hoping for the best for you!
Thank you, Sarah. We'll be sure to add Tampopo to our watch list.
You had me at "hunny thou thou". Clever interpretation of the assignment. I hadn't watched any of your videos yet, but now I'm intrigued soooo mission accomplished, I'd say.
That's great to hear Stacey! Hopefully you like the rest of them too.
You ARE funny. Loved the media interview format. Clever, given the mission. Good visual gags. Maybe you and The Cutbacks could pool your finances and see what can be done with $65. Hope to see lots more from you in the Top 15.
Thank you for watching, Liz!
I'd love to see the coat hanger you need to hang up that shirt. Good jorb, and keep it up!!
This is going to get a little crazy...it's six coat hangers.
Hahaha, Clark Kent showed up to your press conference! Love it! Great job again. You guys always take a unique perspective and deliver witty comedy. There is so much packed into a minute!
YOU WIN THE "FIRST TO NOTICE THE SUBTLE CLARK KENT JOKE" AWARD!
The Bike Cops recommended watching you guys and I can see why. You are truly hilarious with a wacky, fun team of comedians and you deserve to move ahead. Keep it coming folks and I'm looking to watching you without having to be told!
Tell Bike Cops we are thankful they are keeping an eye on us and not because we are doing anything scandalous. Stay tuned for more!
hahaha great gag with the conjoined mayor. Another one of my favorites I came to check out your video first and was definitely not let down. Good Luck with the TOP 15!
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch, Nathan! Hopefully we've earned some of your votes!
"My allegations are 100% lies" Love it! I'm so impressed by you guys. You continue to come up with creative ways to show and explain these missions. Come on top 15!
That's the name of the game for us, Lorraine! Let's go top 15!
Week after week I am impressed! Toronto After Dark deserves top 15! Keep up the great work!
Thanks, Leah! We'll absolutely keep it up!
"We've been friends on and off" *Gold. Maybe I've spent so many nights wandering Lawrence West and puking out front of Hasty Markets, also a former raver, TORONTO AFTER DARK is a sweet concept. Toronto does have an edgier side that isn't explored enough. Giant suits are also pretty hilarious.
Woah, we might have to bring you on as a consultant.
Toronto After Dark, how do you do it? Week after week you bring us dynamic, fresh, current, well-written, FUNNY videos! This week, your six-headed mayor is so clever (the group spit, epic!)! Great job on the clear, easy to read sell sheets too! (Maple Leaves lol) I'm looking forward to your many exciting events this week and can't wait for what you'll bring us next week!
Thanks for reading the sell sheet, Kathleen! It may be a small detail, but we wanted it to be easy to read, so it's nice to hear it is! Stay tuned!
Give these guys the "five hunny thou thou" already. Another great concept for a video and your sell sheet looks fantastic. Top 15 for sure!
You're hired as our "Give these guys money!" guy!
A 6 headed mayor of Toronto. Not hard to imagine after what we've witnessed the past few years. Funny stuff. Keep it up.
Haha, no doubt, Bart. Thanks for watching!
This video needed more punch if it was going to get the media's attention. The teaser showed some real talent for new comedy ideas but that did not come through on this video. It was disappointing after being impressed with the teaser.
We appreciate your feedback, Julie and thank you for watching! Unfortunately there was less room for punch in this video as we had to fit in a six person sized suit. Please stay tuned next week for some extra punch to make up for this week! I think you will like what we have planned.
Very well done!
Move directly to GO, collect $200 and move to Park Place
This comment is so satisfying.
Terrific concept! I love that you've all done sketch comedy before! It adds a more dynamic element to a show, making them feel more alive and less static. Can't wait to see more from you all!
Thanks, Jessi! Be sure to check back next week - you'll love what we have planned.
video was a bit boring.
Hello Carly T. You will be pleased to know that after hours of research and experimentation with the highest intelligence at CERN, we have concluded that the comment is submitted is actually piece of constructive criticism and merits deeper explanation to our fanbase.
With this video we of course wanted to keep things funny but it is also important to show that we can be professional and straight forward with getting our concept across. You see, that weeks mission was to create content specifically designed to be pitched directly to the media. CBC and the media take some big chances when they get behind a project and they need to know that the people in charge of it can be trusted to do their best and not slack off and create a bad image which in turn reflects badly on the supporters.
And if still don't like the video after that, we thank you for watching it anyway and hopefully you will continue to keep an eye on us until you come across something that tickles your fancy. Or funny bone, which ever you prefer.
Great job on the video this week guys! I am a big fan of the old timey journalist
I am partial to both the reporter and myself in that order. Thanks for watching!
The journalist? Or Bruno? OR BOTH?!?
That tie is epic! Great work guys!
We were also wearing the same pair of big underwear!
You guys ARE funny! Loved the Spiderman Cameo... all of it really. I was skeptical of the press conference format, but you guys killed it. THANK YOU for not speaking in one voice, BUT your unified spit delighted me. Good Luck! #BeABuddyGuy
Glad to hear that you liked it!
Loved it! You guys never disappoint! Can't wait to see more!
Thank you, Christine! We've got more coming!
OMG the mayor has lost weight! Sketch comedy and spit takes! What more could you want from a home grown Canadian sketch troupe. Keep up the great work everyone!
The mayor has also developed a dramatic slant from right to left. Thank you, Judy!
Being a fan of Toronto, the Dark, and After things, I’m proud to say I’ve seen this video and I endorse it being a video that people should see.
Being a fan of Adams and the letter M, this post is endorsed with my like of approval
Loved the elongated tie! I would like to see more of it.
Thanks! We will just have to incorporate it in all of our videos from now on.
This was awesome!!! It hit the mark! You hit every group! The Mayor thing was right on target. You didn't leave anyone out. This is a must see. Kudos to the group! Love you all and this is for sure a winner! Congrats! For sure this can not be ignored!
Wow, thanks for all the kind words! We had a blast with this one.
