A nine-to-fiver gets more than he bargains for when he swaps his job for tree planting in the wild.
View ProjectTreeplanting is never what you'd expect!
Fave 31 Views 695This group seems funny and I love the concept! It is very Canadian and yet something that no one has thought to make a comedy about. I have friends who have done it and the stories I heard were pretty ridiculous so I would love to see you guys actually incorporate some real life experiences from tree planters cause they are funny in themselves and give good insight into the experience!

This concept is just so Canadian! My friends always had so many funny stories after they came back from tree planting. Great acting and a great concept. Congrats!
More Dan Jenotte (if I spelt that right) Yeah keep givin'er. How much more Canadian can you get than treeplanting. Good luck with the Comedy coup in the coming weeks
I really enjoyed the shirtless wild-man at the end of the differentiator clip. Lots of goofy comedy potential in a very Canadian setting. I was waiting for a third "How do you plant a tree?" gag. Good job overall.
Haha what a great premise! I'm already looking forward to the different dynamics that can stem from this. Would really like to see more of this :)
That narrator was awesome. He made me actually laugh out loud twice. I really hope you guys get to advance. Good luck! - Ben ( House Of Commons )

The scene at the end was my favourite. It looks like this show has been well thought out and that you guys know exactly where you want to go with it. Want to see more
Really like this show. I mean what's not to like?
:)
The weirder the better. Great work on this mission.
Really high quality production with some good laughs. I'm surprised no one has done a show on tree planting in Canada. One of those things that seems oh so obvious after you see it..good work.
Looks like this would make a very good show, hope you guys make it to the top 50. Interesting concept with a guarantee for awkward yet hilarious interactions.
I love the smell of fresh comedy first thing in the morning! MMMM. Also, over the years I have met several tree planters. Lots of people were tree planters in their youth or know tree planters. These people are heroes to our environment and work their asses off. Often the camps are poorly managed by money grubbing city slickers. Within tragedy there lives comedy and the potential here is as big as the outdoors itself. Mix that with some strong characters, outstanding writing, great locations and I will be happy to seed your project in my FB dirt and watch it grow!
I don't know if this was my favourite or that I found the funniest but the production is great and the concept is clear - I could see this being a tv show and would give it a chance.
This is just quintessentially Canadian! The setting opens up the potential for weird and wonderful storytelling. Plus the kooky characters seem promising.
funny stuff
I know all these people and they are beautiful and funny! Now, let's get out there and plant some comedy trees!
This is really good, and I think the characters look like they ALL could be very funny! Would like to see more of this and how they interact. And would like to learn the "call of the wild" at the end too. Fantastic job guys!
The quality of the video is fantastic and the concept did indeed make me want to check it out. The only thing I think this show does not have going for it is potential for many seasons. After a few episodes in not sure how much you can really do with a show about a summer job.
I know quite a few tree planters and can understand how hilarious their lives can get. Hopefully this show will live up to the real thing.
The fishing scene was funny, ya get a follow and a fave from me, hook line and sinker
I love this show and I want to see it get made!!!
Really well shot guys and pretty funny!
This looks very well-shot and has loads of potential. I laughed out loud a few times during this differentiator, which hasn't happened for me with lots of the other groups! Best of luck Treeplanters and I look forward to seeing all the funny you have in-store. I have no doubt you'll make the top 50!
Lots of potential for the comedy side of job that is tough, but somehow you feel nostalgic about once the season is over.
I'm not sure if it would be my thing. Tree-planting gets kind of old after a while.
I feel like half the guys I know in Canada have tree-planting stories. They up their hands, get drunk with the locals, and do shrooms in the woods. There is opportunity here for certain to explore the weird Lord of the Flies-style Canadian growing pains that occur when you throw a bunch of young adults in the woods with little supervision.
How realistic is the show going to be? Will it get fantastical? Will someone see a centaur or a forest sprite? Will these creatures turn out to simply be a crazy fever dream?
My interest is piqued and I shall return.
You could have a huge backing if you made it actually funny to tree-planters. So far, coming from the perspective of a tree-planter, this is a mickey mouse version of what the job really entails. Kind of patronizing really. Represent us!!!
That ending was hilarious! sounds interesting… would like to see more. Cant wait to see what you all do in the future. Good luck to everyone involved. YAY.
I've watched all your stuff and I find that you have a really creative and unique idea. This show definitely has potential. Can't wait to see where you guys take it from here. Good luck in the competition!
The only way to experience Tree Planting is through Treeplanters…a summer job on your computer.
like the concept good luck
What a great cast, you guys are killing it. I never understood what tree planting was all about so this is very instructive to me. Very good work you sweet pumpkins!
I like your show as a concept too, I think there is a lot of potential, but I feel like some of the characters are already a bit cliched. The one woman is definitely aiming for Jane Lynch :) Good luck y'all!!!
I think this concept's got a lot of potential. It's relatable, canadian, funny and full of different characters. U guys will go far regardless of this competition. Great production quality too.
Yay for the Treeplanters crew! Great Show, great people, and lots of trees! Good Luck with the top 50!
You guys are crazy adorable. Looking forward to seeing more. Congrats on top 110, best of luck with voting going into Top 50!
Hey tree-planters!! That trailer left me wanting more, funny stuff :)
I'm hoping you guys make it to the top 50, really interested as to where this concept is going to go!!! GOOD LUCK!

Having lived in tree planting country I have met many city boys who would come into the local stores once a week to do their laundry and buy first aid items. Many of them had a very romantic idea about going north and spending a summer in the wild. This show has potential to show off some of canada's beautiful landscape but also the true reality of a tree planting dream summer. The individuals need to be developed so that we can cheer for the underdog planter as competition is always a part of any work environment. Good luck with this project, I am a fan of any show that truly reflects a canadian environment and tough individuals .
Can't wait to see more. I remember we used to scare locals when our mangy asses would roll into town for weekly showers, laundry and drinks. Hoping to see that clash.
I like your idea and enjoyed this video. A lot of us Canadians know tree planters, so this is very relatable. Keep it coming!
Your video was good, and your idea has good potential. I think that it is quite original and I hope you are successful so we can see more of it.
Tree planting…sounds romantic, but obviously isn't. Or is it? The engaged couple reminded me of Michael and Stephanie from "The Bob Newhart Show" - annoying but funny. Great idea! Lots of comedic potential here. Good job!
Great concept. Funny people. You guys have a lot of potential and I know you've all paid your dues to Canada's comedy scene. Good luck!
Great Work Guys! Love the voice actor on this! He has such a good sound! ;)
While I was not sure about this show at first I did somewhat change my view after checking it out.It has A good potential lots of material of a city boy on the woods with some strange creatures not to mention the animals. It will be interesting to see where you will go with it. as I am from the northern part of B.C. and a logger I have had lots of interactions with tree planters.Good luck.
Hey man. Looks great so far. I've got a suggestion for future episode: Rodrigo calls a random stranger and coaches them through a series of whacky adventures in the Distillery District including a lot of whacky business in Balzack's coffee. Wouldn't that be whacky? Also, Hey Man.
endless supply of good material, great idea!
Plot has potential but one needs to see the development. You definitely deserve the opportunity show your stuff in the clips to follow.
Really cool atmosphere for character development and relationships! And nice shots! It will be cool to see the varying locations used.
Hey man! We're into it!
You made me giggle! Show me some more funny!
Wonderful stuff, and looking forward to seeing more
After having spent two seasons treeplanting, I noted that you forgot the most pleasant plant of all. DEVILS CLUB. How on earth did you forget that. Sure, you got whales. Everyone sees the whales in Central BC. But the devils club! GAH!
I'm enjoying this series and glad you made it to the top 110. Keep it up
This makes me both regret and be grateful that I never did treeplanting as a Summer job. Very much enjoyed the list of animals/bigs you can encounter (even the coyote).
Great job.
HAHAHA!!! Definitely love the concept, and I'll be honest, you're the only one's of your kind (Which is a compliment)!! I've always had lavish thoughts of doing good with my life, and taking up tree planting. Thanks for the reassurance that leaving that to others is what's best for me!!
I have a newfound desire to walk around with an eye patch and an axe. -Shirts.
Into the concept, definitely a true Canadian experience. I could see getting into this on a "the office" type level.
Treeplanters is a great concept and I think it's definitely different!
Just caught up on your videos and I've become a big fan of this project! Very well done! This show looks hilarious, and I hope you go very far in this contest.
looks good, like really good! really really REALLY good! really like the nature, the ambiance, the jokes, the fun, the funny, the acting, the quality, it’s full of people I know and love and love and know, love how many infinite possibilities exist in the wilderness, including SEEING Garrett Jameison topless but also WITH suspenders on, I found that to be an exceptional treat, seeing such a man really take control of his body in a way a firefighter would when posing for a charity calendar to be sold to middle aged aroused house wives just looking to gaze on some chisel.
Great stuff!
Loving it guys! I really like the concept. I look forward to more :)
Garrett is a super cool dude and this is great!
I love the concept for this show - so much potential! Great teasers - how much is scripted vs. improv? Looking forward to seeing more!
AaaaOOooo!
Looking forward to seeing more…. especially the wildcats!
