A Doc-Style show follows out-of-touch Saaajiid's attempt to reach a Seacrest-Level of Media-Moguldom
View ProjectSaaajiid describes what TV would be like "Without Me".
Fave 34 Views 444Aaaaaaaand this is genius. You had me at "a tisk-it a task-it". Give us more! Specifically, I want to see a montage of Saaajiid in scenarios. I enjoy this so much. Personally, I think he's already hitting a chord. I feel so bad for the guy clearly out of his element trying to be a famous TV personality/host. I want see him fight for his chance and blow it time after time. I want to see him handle brutal rejection with his deadpan mumbles. I really enjoyed what Darrell Faria talked about in the Mission 2 video. This character will really creep on audiences. From pathetic to heroic. What's going to bring this to the next level is moving beyond the accent and costume and bringing us to the emotional moments. We need to get attached to him. I know you're a Michael Scott (Office) fan. We need some classic failure and redemption. I think Saaajiid is endearing because he has a dream and will never give it up. And it's a tragedy that he's so awful at it. Best of luck in ComedyCoup. I think your concept has wonderful potential.

I like the concept of the show but found this video a bit weak and maybe a bit boring. Sorry but good luck on the next stage of the contest.
Man... this character could kill it on YouTube. Fill up a channel with like, 100 videos of rap covers exactly like this and I guarantee it'll blow up someday.
good job on this weeks challenge. Congratulations on making it this far and I look forward to seeing more. keep on going!
This guy is ridiculous. Part Borat and part Nathan for you. This awkward humour can be really fun if done right and this project does it right. I`m in.
Does Saaajidd do dates? I'd love to see how he is with the ladies.. I know I already have a huge crush.
That was really good. I like the character you've created here. I hope you make it far in this competition. I definitely want to see more of Saaajiid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love it!
As humour is a personal thing I judge these projects as to whether I believe it can appeal to a wide enough CBC audience base to attract more than a niche market commercial sponsor and with evidence of potential to generate a weekly series worth of material. Good luck.
I love this guy! He's so nerdy and ethnic. It really works. Can't wait to see more. I hope they introduce a dating segment. I think this character would do well with the ladies.
Ok?
This just seems lazy in so many ways. Your concept is light and it feels like the whole things being phoned in on purpose. Not really getting my interest, sorry.
I thought it was pretty funny!!!
OMG DF, This is the best -- proof positive that you need no artifice for great comedy, just a comitted (or should be commited) performer, a camera, an eminem tune, and a CBC sponsored web challenge so we can all see it. Nice one -- Am I at a hundred words yet? LOL. Just kidding. This is my favourite week 3 mission, aside from my own, of course:)
I think this contest would work better if people just got to vote and that was that. but I am supposed to give feedback…so keep up the great work… interesting character. well done and good luck on your next challenges. i will be watching
Great editing. Could do a lot better on choosing a sweater with an appropriate arm length. I give you a 7/10 for your sincere face. Interested to see how this character develops.
This character could be awesome, especially if his "fame" goes to his head!
Sorry guys this did not do it for me. I could barely make out any words, and that may have been the point but it did not come across as funny, nor did it (I believe) meet the criteria for week 3.
I can honestly say, this is the funniest character that I've seen in this competition. I hope you guys make it into the Top 50. Best of luck with it!
No clue what you said in this video at all, but I appreciate that you are retweeting Ryan Seacrest. That alone is funny.
You're cute.
I dig your persona man! Think it fits with today's current crop
This is by far the funniest character I have seen out of all of the competition. Keep it up. would love to know more about the show but I will watch anything with Saaajid! Thanks for the LOLs
I really didn't understand your video at all. I don't mean that I wasn't able to interpret what was being said, I just didn't take away anything from this video at all. Hopefully if you get further you'll be able to explain in other videos what is going on. Good luck in the competition!
I agree with everything Peter has said and would just like to reiterate how much I want to see you do this whether it's on CBC or elsewhere.
I am sorry but I did not understand this video. I am not sure what he is doing or where he is going. Need to see more. I can certainly see that it is different than the others. It left me scratching my head!
I like the idea, and I can see how the charater of saaajiid can be funny, but what is the story? How will he evolve? Or is the idea that we watch saaajiid in different situations and see his reaction?
Oh D man, sooooooo freaking funny, dude:)
this is great Darrell!
Saaajiid, you’ve done it again, you magnificent fellow! I’ve been following your rise to the top since the beginning, and I’ll be there to the bitter end!
Very creative! Still would like to more about what makes you guys stand out. Though, I have to say, Saaajiid is pretty unique LOL.
A
i didn't even understand half of what you sang, but i laughed outloud because of the amazing awkward moments. i agree with the Peter S. comment - go deeper into the Saaajiid...
This is brilliant! I was laughing through the entire thing! Amazing job!
Loved this. It was very funny. I would like to set him up with my daughter. I think that they would hit it off as she loves Eminem also. She also knows all of the lyrics, which is helpful.
Arranged marriage?!?

So funny
Do those glasses have lenses? I'm trying to see if I can figure it out. Is that even a thing you would be able to see at this angle? The mind boggles. Also, interesting.
Darrell F.
Ja, I'm in Elephant Empire.
suuuch wonderful feedback thanks Peter! do you have anything in the coup?
ditto!
