Synopsis

In Scratch Tracks failed music industry producer NATHAN WILLIAMS retreats tail-between-legs to his quirky hometown to revive his old recording studio in his grandma’s basement. He and two young assistants - wise-beyond-her-years, sexy rocker BRIDGET PEPPER and tech-savvy, anal geek REX ROSE are besieged by hopeful locals. Stoner GRANDMA hovers, causing havoc and sometimes saving the day. Miraculously Nate leads misfit musicians to discover hidden talents and launch careers. Eventually real-life Canadian musicians with fictional stories gravitate to Scratch Track. Each episode ends with an original song - comic or poignant – proving that “everyone wants to be a star”.

Rob S. isn't smart, or funny, or in any way providing constructive criticism to projects by giving low ratings. Unnecessary bad ratings are no fun for anyone. Stop it Rob. You're an Emmy winner... Don't need to sink to that level.

From what has been revealed so far, looks like a kooky enjoyable show with great characters, abundant story lines and great music. Keep moving forward. Good production values as well!

I like the concept. Lots of potential for material because musicians, or those that want to be, can be the craziest characters around. I know quite a few and they can fill several seasons of weirdness. Good luck!

Love the way the pathos and comedy are intertwined with individual dreams, societies preconceptions and each individuals personal journey; Grandma totally at home in her skin in all ways, the struggle [ and humour ] of the lead - did 'he ' fail ' in an artificial world ? Or is success about happiness within? The Vlogger who is the conscious observer representing her own views and acting as the collective viewer perhaps. This has characters you love, you recognize, you can empathize with and wince at. Having the potential to spin in so many directions, seriously raising questions about societies artificial values whilst presenting a totally watchable, enjoyable and entertaining program. The addition of real live, unique music, acting as a showcase is pure genius and another delight for the senses LOVE IT.

The glory of this idea is that there is an excellent opportunity to showcase real Canadian talent; both little known unrecorded artists and professionals alike can get a public airing and be heard where they might not be otherwise. I see great potential in this, and the ability to appeal to many musical tastes.

Good promo video for a possible movie or series. It has so much potential for broad appeal: the adult bfa (back from away) experience where you find your hometown isn't what you remember, quirky/Corner Gas personalities, a grandmother who could show Pierre Berton how to roll one. "Be sure to remove any twigs and seeds..."

Finally something the whole family can enjoy !

As well as the acting, good audio and video production BTW.
