How ya gettin' on Agnes my dear,
It's been ages! I dies at you each week when Ricky shows me what you do be at in town there. You got more nerve than I that's for sure! I watches the CBC news every day and there's always someone in there in an accident or loosing a cat or something. Be careful will ya for the love of god!? I just heard of the fella in there trying to get old women into his van to do god only knows what with! Shocking! Sure, maybe I will come in for a visit after all...

I don't have to go to out the window to the gym and the other day of any kind to me I love it when so you can get a job at a time time when the sun is out of a new sudden I have to be a able to do with a new song is the so much fun with the same time and I have to no one is going to to be a able good for to the long run the risk ballot in a statement from the start and It will be the best way to the point game is the best most important thing to say that you can get a the best
Best wishes to the top 55 contestant winners and congratulations on having your efforts recognized in this CBC Comedycoup contest. Good Luck to those making the top 15.
Your hype was good. I need to see more clips of your show to see the comedy of a Mom & Son team. Looking forward to your next mission. Best of luck in making top 15
This pitch reminds me of Kids in the Hall for some reason...even though I haven't seen it in years. This is cute and I hope you advance in the next step of he contest. All the best to your team! Congratulations!
I could listen to you say 'Bargain' all day. Good Luck! #BeABuddyGuy
Great Work! Newfoundland would be proud! Funny concept and definitely lots of potential! Keep up the great work:) Very Creative!
Nanny Walbourne is colourful and likeably zany. With the addition of more characters to play against, and different situations, it might hold some comedic promist. Best of luck in your rise to the top projects, and hope to see Nanny in the top group.
Nanny Walbourne is almost believable, and definitely likeable! She is a unique old gal, what with her special effects crystal ball, and her social ways. I wonder if she is based on a special person somewhere. Well, may good fortune be in your cards, Nanny and crew!
Congratulations on making it to the Top 55! Creative team, interesting concept. It’s tough to come up with solid product each week so kudos for your hard work. Best of luck moving into the top 15. Newfie Mrs. Doubtfire!
Thanks for calling me out on the radio, Nanny. Congrats on top 55 and good luck going forward!
Well the final hours of the vote to get to the next level are approaching now so it is up to the voters now to get you there. Best wishes to you for success and nice work on getting through to the top 55 for all those able who were able to get that far.
This is most adorable project so far. It has some great comedic potential. This could be good one for the top 15 ! Great work guys
Way to go on your comedy coup efforts to date. You have succeeded in making it to the top 55 and that is something to be proud of. Already the competition is getting tough as the quality of the competitors gets refined. Best wishes for making it to the next level.
Congratulations for making it to top 55.Really interesting video loved it all.Love your attire really love the granny.Good luck.in top 15.
fun that your pics are all tarot cards. fun that taht's the event you're plugging. I do have a fondness for nanny - who wouldn't with that music and the little ticks. but a journalist doesn't have much here to go on and I'm not sure tarot would be this granny's thing - out of character? anyway this concept should be on the stage before tv
If you are receiving this comment then you are one of my top 15 favorites in this comedycoup.cbc.ca contest and you are congratulated for making the top 55 and doing a really good job on all the missions to date. That has been a lot of work so congratulations on your efforts!
Definitely one of my favs! I love the Newfoundland slang or way Nan speaks. Super funny! You knows... hahaha best of luck making it to the top 15!
My top 15 in no particular order are:
Geoff and the Ninja, The Hill, How to do Everything Gooder, The Lease, Warf Rats, Dear Stella, Goons, Dope Ass World, North of Normal, Just passing through, The Batchelors, Buddy guys, The Dangers of Online Dating, Nanny Walbourne, Heir Heads.
Good Job Guys keep it up and you'll be top 15 for sure!!!! Really funny stuff! Can't wait to see more!
Ya it may be running out of style I agree. But I like Nanny Wallbourne. She is really fun. Probably not a top 15. But I would sure like to see her as guest performer on HumanTown!
It doesn't seem to be as funny as skitchs like monty python or ja'mie private school girl and even then men dressing up as women is a gag that is running out of style i think..
the setting is really adding a lot to the motion of this picture. perhaps including a bit more musical and graphical effects can help you guys go a long way
Sadly, I can never take a show seriously (and, yes, that's just as important for a comedy) when it's one gender playing the opposite gender purely for laughs. It just feels like sketch, and Canada has way too much sketch already. It just feels like an easy out to make a sketch-style comedy, and I think people are looking for a concept and characters they can really get behind.
Yes it is a Newfoundland Mrs. Doubt-fire but I can't listen to that annoying voice for very long - sorry. The concept is interesting and the scenery is great, Good luck in the competition.
The Newfie Mrs. Doubtfire. Bring it on! There's just something about an earnest man in women's clothing. Love the tarot card detail, cuz tarot cards are fun and if people don't know that, they're missing out. You certainly have your own style and are rockin it all the way. Respect. ;-) j.
Canadian Dame Edna - not funny in England, why would it be funny down east?
I disagree , watching Nan will be funny as chasing pigs in the pen. This show could slip around all sorts of gags. In the home , tarro reading, superstious walk abouts. and all of Nan's dress combos.
Does she ever meet a boyfriend? This is a comedy waiting to happen. Good luck!
Pretty good but there is lots of competition out there!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of other competitors competing against everyone in the competition!!!!!!!! Good luck to you and everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so Newfoundland. Fine enough concept I guess. I personally couldn't watch this for a whole half hour but best of luck. Looks like you're having fun at any rate.
The character reminds me of my favourite great aunt, funny, not sure how much more interesting or creative it can get
I think your hype event will be a hit. If I was in the area, I would be there. Entertaining and funny! Nanny is a great character and I am sure she well become a beloved part of Canadian culture. Keep the creativity flowing!
Nan gets it!
Well done Nanny. Keep them coming. Great character, lots of colour, good humour. Love the waddle. Where are the kiddies. Look forward to the next episode.
Silly for sure. Not so confident that how much material can be generated to keep this show interesting.
This clip filled my viewing time for the last 90 seconds plus the additional 15 seconds of CBC filler.
I think your sell sheet is very well done! Even though your hype video could have had a little more hype in it, I believe your hype event will be a great success! Good job! Good luck!
Thanks by's for all yur sweet comments. Its been lots of laughs making the videos for Comedy Coup. If we make it into the top 15 Nan will certainly work on introducing more main characters and elaborating on the structure of the t.v. show. We appreciate all the responses we received and look forward to chatting more with you guys soon. Love Nanny Walbourne Big hugs and kisses from Newfoundland!
Oh, boy. I sure wish I lived closer. I'd love to have you read my Tarot cards, Nanny Walbourne. I understood what you were saying this time. Last time, I had trouble. Maybe I'm getting used to your accent. Good luck.
I think the event is a great idea, works very well with the character you've been introducing to us and I'm sure you'll get a great turnout. I would still like to see some more main characters introduced though. Good luck!
Your character certainly has her moments. But i don't see how you plan to make a half hour comedy out of it. You haven't made that clear. Good luck in the vote this weekend.
You made the top 55! Your project looks really funny and makes me interested to see more.
I adore the adorable accent! Super cute Mrs. Doubtfire comedy to be had, although I may be mistaken (I've only seen the one trailer). Best of luck!
Everything is very interested and I do like your main character- I agree with the others and think she is very cute. Best of luck in the up coming round, hope to see you in the top 15
Congratulations on making the top 55! Your project looks really funny and makes me interested to see more. Best of luck!
I agree all your videos are cute and your character is cute...but let's see you add more funny and introduce more charters that will help shape your show. Liked the poster in your Tarot Reading room.
Good luck!
Great job guys and congratulations on making it to week 5, looking forward to seeing what week 6 brings. Best of luck
this was a cute video. All of your videos are cute and quircky. I am just getting a little tired of the same joke. Something fresh would be nice. Good luck.
Gosh you folks are hilarious. As evident by your large following, I am impress with the quality your team displays. Good luck this week. Hope we all see one another at top 15
From Team Maple U,

I'm torn between this show and one other one from NL that I'm absolutely loving. I need to get down to the CLB this weekend and get my tarot cards read by Nanny Walbourne, great job guys!
I like that the main character is a male actor posing as an old Nanny. The Tarot card readings is something realistic as well in the storyline. And the funny ass clothing.
I like the idea of Nanny Walbourne. More dialogue would be great and a little more camera action would round it out. Good luck!
Hey Nan!
I'd love to do a live radio check in with you about your Comedy Coup adventures...I'm inviting one person (you?) from each of the the five remaining groups to chat live on CBC Radio studio this Saturday at 9:10-9:20 AM. Let me know by Twitter @CBCWAM
Nan, you remind me of Benny Hill. I love your accent and I hope lots and lots of people come out to support you at your card reading.
My hopefully constructive comments: this video was actually really good when it came to promoting your fan event, which is great. I think anyone who lives in Newfoundland and is interested in this show now has no excuse not to show up. That said, it didn't do too much in terms of pitching to the media as to why your show should get coverage. Maybe they'll be interested in the live event? Either way, good luck going forward!
nice work
just to let you know this kat t person is copy and pasting this exact comment on many projects so DO NOT LISTEN TO HER! this was a really good video and I hope your event goes well!
I appreciated the upbeat energy for your hype video. Light, funny and entertaining video. Not sure how long this concept will last in main stream TV. Good luck as the competition moves forward,
Appreciate the effort, saw two kinds of humour in the top 55, what I like and what I don’t. I hope I will see less silly and no beeps from the top 15.
Good luck to you I was hoping for a bit more substance
Seems like Nan had a bit of a cold this week, or too many words to speak and not enough time to sling the accent. The event sounds like it will be a charm, though, Good Luck.
this video was pretty good. I like how you incorporated a spot to advertise your media event coming up. I am just not sure how long this mrs. doubtfire inspired show will last it may get a little old. Sell sheet is good though.
Nanny walbourne sounds a little like a leprechaun but seems like a likeable character, which is good because a man in drag is not easy to sell. You pull it off qute nicely. Good luck with the competition.
The event will be documented, right? I can't wait to see Nanny Walbourne's tarot readings. Some of the voice over seemed to me a little under expressive in this video, but the sell sheet and optional images look great!
Sorry but whats up with men from Newfoundland playing woman? Two in the top 50. Come on. Is this something big there. Need to try something new. Do have to admit that this one is better than the one from Wing Mom. Good luck.
Yeah it has been done before. I don't like that stereotyping of Newfoundland and Labrador but I guess it could be a funny project for certain people. I really like your posters.
I love Newfoundland and Newfoundlanders. Keep up the rocking humour and good luck in the competition.
Constructively commenting on your video for mission week number five. keep doing what you are doing and best of luck.
I wish that I lived closer to you so that I could pop in to have my fortune read! Thanks for giving us Canada's answer to Dame Edna. It may have been done before, but I like the down home Newfoundland spin.
Congratulations making it to the top 55 in comedy coups pitch contest, and good luck as they decide who is going to make it to top 15
Bruce N wrote exactly what I was thinking. It looks like a show, that has a Newfie, MRS. Doubtfire wannabe. It might be good, for a couple episodes. But that would probably be it. The male, nanny's been done. The male, nanny, pretending to be female, has been done. I apologize for being such a critic. But like The Bare Naked Ladies say. It's all been done, before.
I've been following you guys from the start. Another great video! Wishing you all the best in the rest of the competition. Nanny Walbourne = Funny.
Dear Nanny Walbourne, I wish I were in Newfoundland so you could give me a Tarot reading. I would happily pay the $5. Love to see your show come to the CBC. Once again I've been convinced that East Coast humour is the best. Hope to see you in the top 15.
be sure to introduce us to Nan's Family and Friends
Newfie Mrs. Doubtfire
I've watched all of these videos and I still have no idea what the show is. It could be me, and I hope it is, because there's most likely potential out there somewhere, but right now, I'm not seeing it. Nanny's kinda funny though!
Nanny cracks me up every time. Toots, Mrs. Doubtfire, Mrs. Brown...they all worked, but I feel a bit sceptical about this project as a sitcom. I can't put my finger on it. I like your event, though. Wish I could be there to meet you. I hope it's a success.
Hey there! Good job on this video. You are definitely a funny guy and I look forward to seeing and learning more about this character you've created. Good luck!
Like your concept. Think your accent needs some work to sound authentic. Lots of color.
Can you make this work in the long run?
i m sorry the sound was not clear to me i think you were clear in promoting your event.i wish you luck witn your next missions and hope you make it good luck
Hi there! I loved your video! Your concept seems really funny, and your promotional event of tarot card readings is really unique and seems very fitting to your show/character. Good luck! :)
I wish I could be there with you Nanny to have my cards read. It sounds like a fun event and you certainly did a good job of hyping it with this week's video. You are a card!
You always seem to have very interesting videos. The tarot card reading idea for this weeks event also seems very interesting and different too. I doubt any other team has come up with such a unique idea for their event. Have fun with it guys!
Certainly an original idea for the live event; wish I could come out to get my cards read. I'd love to know more about Nanny's family and friends and how much of a role they will play on the show; her interactions with people she knows will drive your story as much as the playfulness she displays with strangers, I would think.
Not as bad as the one with fishermen but still pretty lame.
I too would have liked more original video but I did like your promotion of your event. Just wondering if you can keep up the momentum with only one main character....Good luck this weekend!
cute video. I like how you incorporated your event into the video. I would have liked to see some more original footage though.
Obviously you've put a lot of love into your character but I'm not seeing so far how this would work for a half-hour episodic show. Maybe a better fit for a recurring sketch or web series? Fun idea for your media event—hope it's a success for you!
If for this week's Flip mission you decide to make Nanny a nunchuck-wielding badass, give us a call. - team Randy Justice
Always a good time when you're with Nanny Walbourne! If I was in the area I would most def come out and get my fortune told! them Caramel bars look wonderful!
Can't wait to have my fortune read, and to see more videos.
I think this week's video captured the character nicely, but I would have liked a better sense of the show itself for the media pitch. Good idea for a live event though!
I think the character is great and has a lot of funny potential. I just don't know what the show is going to be yet. Is it a camera following her around a la Marg Delahunty? Is there any plot or other characters (other than her daughter)? Doesn't feel enough for a series.
Some lines are funny but think the concept would fade quickly.
I think Nanny W. has lots of potential. In my view, she could stand to be a bit more outrageous, like in unexpected ways. That would liven her up some for the viewing audience. And in one or two places, her monologue might be delivered a wee bit more naturally, i.e. occasionally sounds like reading off a script, instead of 'flowing'. Nanny W is a delight, and her regional voice is charming! Best of luck.
Love Nanny's fortune telling poster.
Still not too clear on the concept of the show but looks fun.
Well that was very informative, lots of stuff, but what I would like to know is, whats the status on your daughter Rhonda????? Is she on the market??? Would she ever leave the old ROCK for the sandbar south of ya's. So let us know and keep up the great work!!
Great job on the sell sheet too
Hello Nan, the message below is from your friend Margo out the bay (she asked me to write it cuz she's "no good wit da computers and internets"). Good luck next weekend and here's her message:
