Geoff had it all...until he didn't. In desperate need of a roommate, a ninja answers the call.
View ProjectFor our Hype It video, we decided to take the road less traveled (for us) and play it real. That's right, this is our genuine, non-character selves! We really want the media to take notice of our story cause we think it's pretty special :) Hopefully, our attempts to infuse natural humour paid off and you loving fans stay loving and laughing!
Fave 48 Views 451I like this that you are just starting out. There is too many professionals in this competition. I believe this should give newcomers a chance to shine. Good luck and congrats.

Wow guys! Love this show, but sorry, might not get to be the über fan in time for the finales. Can't get enough of GatN and can't wait to see what comes out next!
I hereby state that the following commentary is over the required 100 characters and is as follows: love it!
We'll as long as the love was genuine we forgive the copy-paste badge hunting :P Hope you check out our newest video!
You guys have one of the best Ideas I have seen in this competition! Congratulations on making it this far! if my friends don't win this thing. I'm pulling for you guys for sure!
Thanks Jason! Who are your friends? We just made the top 15, are we your new favourite or are they still in the running!? ;)
I will not be voting for these guys project because I think How To Do Everything Gooder is the best show CBC could choose to air!
Well it's hard to be upset since Gooder is one of my personal fave's ;) Hope you helped get them to the next level!
Best wishes to the top 55 contestant winners and congratulations on having your efforts recognized in this CBC Comedycoup contest. Good Luck to those making the top 15.
I don't have to go to out the window to the gym and the other day of any kind to me I love it when so you can get a job at a time time when the sun is out of a new sudden I have to be a able to do with a new song is the so much fun with the same time and I have to no one is going to to be a able good for to the long run the risk ballot in a statement from the start and It will be the best way to the point game is the best most important thing to say that you can get a the best of luck all to the best
I understand exactly what you mean...
Great job guys, can't believe you manage to do this from two cities so far apart! Amazing graphics and editing... Your hard work is paying off!!
Thanks Nadine! Sorry you guys couldn't make it out on Saturday! Here's hoping we can celebrate being in the top 15 soon instead!
This is pretty amazing for low budget. I can't imagine how tough it is being very far apart. Great job guys.
Thank you Britt! It is tough, but opens our minds to new, crazy ideas we probably wouldn't have explored if we weren't forced to work within the limitations. Tonight's video is the best example of this yet, can't wait for everyone to see it!
Very impressed with this hype, a creative way to get all three of you together. Most projects have no money, so you are on a level playing ground. Actually I think it is very unfair to see the professionals with money in this competition. You sure deserve a shot, it would be great to get some new original deserving teams in the top 15. Good luck.
Thanks Clayton! We hope little guys like us and so many others in this competition get the chance to shine as well. Not to disparage the work put in by already established professionals! But come on, give us a chance too ;)
Wow! I'm impressed at your magnanimous spirit to host a shared press interview with your competition. That is fantastically Canadian to all cheer each other on.
We were just thrilled to get so many teams to come out and support each other. This community is such a tight and strong one and it was our pleasure to meet so many great teams and the people behind them this weekend! We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
As a fellow no-budget competitor, I can relate to your pain (oh, can I ever). Having said that, it's wonderful to see that you've made it this far -- you've got a pretty hilarious premise and even across such a great distance, there is a real sense of camaraderie onscreen here. Congrats on making the Top 55, and good luck from a fellow no-budget nobody.
Thanks Mike! Love your guys show, been one of my faves since day one. Your lack of budget plays into your premise almost too perfectly ;) Here's hoping we'll see each other on the other side and one day have actual budgets to work with!
Way to go on your comedy coup efforts to date. You have succeeded in making it to the top 55 and that is something to be proud of. Already the competition is getting tough as the quality of the competitors gets refined. Best wishes for making it to the next level.
Thanks Azim, it's been a grind but it's been awesome. We met many of the other teams on Saturday and were thrilled to be surrounded by so much talent. Here's hoping for the top 15!
Top 55 is a great accomplishment! Make sure you never "close your mind" to making Top 15! Looks like you all have a great time together creating comedy! Best of luck as you go for Top 15!
Closing our minds is not an option when 800 km apart haha, thanks for the comment!
Good luck!
Funny as always, even if it is at the belittlement of grannies everywhere (it's okay, they won't see it). I'm cheering for you.
Jeez kiddo, with lines like that maybe you'll earn a spot on the writing team ;) Hope you got all your votes in this time haha. Check back tonight for the new video, I'm sure it's gonna be your favourite.
Terrific, again!! I didn't realize just what you had to go through to create each video. The scene with "Grandma" was a hoot! I laughed pretty hard, and want to see your very talented team make everyone laugh some more. Good luck boys!
A special nod for all the awesome grandma's out there, yourself included ;) Can't wait to show you our newest video tonight!
Extremely likeable team! I hope you go very far in this competition, and I'm glad you guys are having so much fun! Good luck in the rest of the competition!
Aw shucks well thanks Ashley! Fingers are crossed for tonight. No matter what happens though we can't wait to release our new video, it's our favourite yet!
inventions come from neccesity. Some of the best ideas have been made to work through adversity. you guys can do this. Henry Ford said" If you think you can or you can't, you're right." you dudes are funny, keep up the good work!
Deep. And awesome. Thanks Wayne! "Inventions come from necessity" has certainly rung through for us so far!
Way to go guys! Loved the use of humour whilst still getting the message across. It's better each week!
Thanks Michael! I think you'll be thoroughly entertained by our newest video tonight!
Great special effects. Nice use of green screen in your show. I think your show has potential. I hope you do well. Also some great jokes in there good work guys!
Thanks Jason! It has been both a blessing and a curse as it can sure be limiting. But it's helped us get creative in ways we wouldn't have imagined before and not to mention honed my green screen skills which is never a bad thing!
Keep at it guys! Your doing a lovely job and nan loves you all to bits and pieces. Ohhhh dis one is half spooky like that paranormal activity with all de glitches! Loves it
Ninja has never felt the love of a mother-figure. He is humbled by nan's kind words. If she found this one spooky, just wait until the new video tonight!
This is really impressive work boys. Out of all the videos on this site, and there are lots of good quality work here, I think your group is my favorite. You should definitely be a finalist. Good luck and nice work!
Thank you Diana! We couldn't have come this far without the support of people like you. Here's hoping it helps get us all the way!
If you are receiving this comment then you are one of my top 15 favorites in this comedycoup.cbc.ca contest and you are congratulated for making the top 55 and doing a really good job on all the missions to date. That has been a lot of work so congratulations on your efforts!
Awesome! Thanks Shelley :) Hopefully we get to be part of everyone's top 15 tonight!!
Good luck to you this week! Lots of tough competition out there. May the best teams win. Congrats on making it to the top 55 and good luck again in the top 15!
The real dark horses of the competition. With no experience you guys have stood up to and beat out a lot of the professional competitors. I want to see more! Good luck guys!
Wow, awesome comment, thank you Stephen! I love To Hunt a Monster. In a perfect world, the To Hunt a Monster with a Ninja crossover special will write itself someday ;)
Like the approach you guys took for this mission. Great to see the creators behind the project. Even though you lack the "professional" experience you guys nail it each time! Good stuff!
Thanks Brandon! Huge fan of Campus Law, so that's high-praise as far as I'm concerned! Love the foot-five this week and nod to Richard ;)
Very inventive way of showing your team for this video, guys! I'm still a little confused about the premise but it looks interesting and funny.
Thanks Adam! Well I hope you stick around long enough for us to answer any questions you might have. Hopefully the next few weeks will let us dive into deeper mechanics of the show that we haven't had a chance to explore so far.
the setting is really adding a lot to the motion of this picture. perhaps including a bit more musical and graphical effects can help you guys go a long way
Thanks for the feedback Jordan. The constant green screen distance factor has been pretty limiting for a lot of our videos for sure. We really took it to another level with our new video though and were able to turn out what we think is our best effort yet. Hope you check it out tonight!
Great spin on the classic odd couple format. You've really set yourself up for exploring many different avenues and the videos are funny and charming. Congrats.
Thank you Lauren :) We love how open-ended Ninja and his world let's us be. The biggest challenge is grounding it enough to keep it interested for people and we're super thrilled that people seem to be enjoying it so far.
The fact that you guys are so far apart and putting out such good videos is impressive. Your productions are as good as any of the folks that are talking about their previous experience. I'd be disappointed in the competition if you guys are not finalists. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Debbie! Here's hoping we'll all get to celebrate soon!
First of all, I can't believe you guys are making this stuff so far apart! AMAZING! You've come up with excellent ways to 'be together'. Well done taking the lead and inviting other teams to 'hype' with you. Very generous! Great job guys.
Thanks Christina! It was our pleasure, Saturday was a great time and it was awesome to meet so many of the talented ComedyCoup folks down in Vancouver!
Prince George boys!! Awesome. Love the concept for the show, and I hope you guys can get together, because I'm sure it is next to impossible to make these challenges happen when you're so far apart. You're likable guys, and I hope things pan out for ya.
Nothing's impossible with modern technology, just really..really difficult ;) haha we hope we get a chance to work on something all together again soon! But fortunately so far we've been able to make do with what we've got! Thanks for the comment!
i laughed. i wonder how far the gimmick can go.
Thanks Shauna, we think it can go pretty far! I'd say it's a crucial element over a gimmick ;) We've got big, big plans for the future of GATN!
this video is really funny. it was a surprising angle that i wasnt expecting and it was different form your other videos yet still having the "geoff and the ninja" vibe ive grown to know and love :) keep it up!!
Thanks Bobby! If you love the GATN vibe then you're definitely gonna be in love with our new video tonight ;) Stay tuned!
You guys are funny and I like the angle of this video - congratulations on making it to the top 55 and I'll be disappointed in the contest if you don't make it to the top 15! Wow grandma is on the internet!
Thank you Steve! Grandma's are capable of amazing things these days! Our fingers are crossed for tonight..
love the effect. you might need more scenes! Make the videos move! Keep it up!
Thanks Pierre, we packed our new video launching in a few hours with as much stuff as we could to compensate. Hope you check back tonight!
You guys are funny and I like the angle of this video - congratulations on making it to the top 55 and I hope to see you in the top 15!
Thanks Orlando, we hope so too! Biting our nails watching the clock...
funny stuff guys great use of the green screen you definitely have the technical skills down and it makes your videos look really good which certainly gives you an advantage that said i didnt really laugh that much to be honest dont forget to bring the funny not just the flash but youve made it this far so you must be doing something right :) keep it up
Thanks Jessica! We really debated the best approach for this week's video and decided to take our chances with playing it straight over going for more laughs. We'll find out if it paid off tonight! Don't worry though, we bring the laughs in tonight's video, I promise!
I wish I could have been at your event last night but can't wait for Saturday! !!!
Saturday was the bomb-diggity!
Keep going back and forth with this and 2 others. But in the end right now you guys got my votes! YA!
Thank you Brooklyn! We appreciate the support and hope to keep making you laugh for the next four weeks!
Nice job on the challenge this week. Only critique is the skype joke would have been better if the 'cutting in and out' at the start was digitized and not performance. Tight other than that.
Thanks Adam, we definitely agree and that was indeed the original plan. Unfortunately I didn't quite have time to finish the full effects on this one :( I did get it up on YouTube though, check out the final result! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETMYNo2msMM
That was a very good hype video guys and I am glad you are able to figure out ways to overcome the distance gap and I can only imagine what your long distance conversations have been like to put this all together that in its self would be a real laugh . Jeremy I'm sure your Grandma Ellen will get a real chuckle out of the ending. You guys are getting better all the time.Good luck.Oh and by the way Jeremy I saw your mom checking out some of your earlier works when you where all here and she was quite enjoying herself.
Haha thanks dad. The conversations have been crazy, yes. Hope you guys got all your votes in this weekend!
I like your Hype It video! It's amazing what you have accomplished considering the distance issue you have. I love your sell sheet! It was informative and easy to read. Your event sounds like a blast! Have fun Saturday night and good luck with the competition!
Thanks Sherril! Distance = pain but pain = gain ;) no one can accuse us of not doing a labour of love! Saturday will be awesome, can't wait!
Loving the VFX this week. I can only imagine the render time! I gotta like anyone that makes good use of a cyc. Good luck in the vote!
Mark
-Infinite Possibilities-
Thanks Mark. Luckily my comp is a beast and render times are one issue we don't have to worry about ;) Good luck in the vote to you too!
I really love all your videos, you're the first team I check on when the new missions come out! I love your creativity and concept! The production value of your videos is awesome in such a short time. You get my votes for top 15! good luck!
Thanks Alisa! Greatly appreciated!!
I appreciate that this team isn't pretending to be more experienced than they are - but are taking risks and working hard to produce a solid product! Congrats on making it this far, and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
Thank you Courtney, here's hoping it gets us through to the next round!
#NINJAM
A Ninja room mate ... not sure about that. I did like the hologram stuff especially them playing catch and I can totally relate to the skype challenges. I feel for ya and the work involved, good luck
Thanks Lex! If the opportunity ever arises, don't take it. Hilarity ensues, yes, but at great risk to your health and safety. And f*** skype!
I like Ninjas!
Thanks for all the laughs guys. So much time and effort you fellas have put in to make these great clips. I can't wait to see Geoff and the Ninja in a full production! Go get em boys!
You are quite welcome! Stick around as we've got even more in store ;)
Really loved the hologram thing... haven't seen that yet in the competition! You guys have created some amazing work considering the obstacles, and taking on planning a Vancouver Comedycoup event including all the teams is a lot to take on. Shows your passion for supporting and collaborating with your local comedians. Best of luck in the top 15, my votes are going your way! :)
Thanks Marilyn! We're super stoked about Saturday can't wait to meet so many of the teams!
Yes, I appreciate all your hard work. you start with nothing, no money, no great equipment... and compete against people who are not really amateurs!!! Hard pill to swallow, so I commend you guys for the hard work you put into your project. The best of luck to you!
Thank you Chantal! Although in all honesty, the one good thing we do have is high quality cameras. However they're usually locked on a tripod which sucks! You hit the nail on the head about money though haha
Love the new video guys! Its great for those that don't know you to get a glimpse at what is really behind geoff and the ninja. Hope everything in prince George goes amazingly. so proud
Thanks Kate! From what I understand, the bake sale went swimmingly ;)
I must say, I wasn't asking why two of you were holograms, I was really asking why weren't all of you holograms. Other than that, this was a good submission. This show looks very crazy and I want to see more. I can relate to you guys, since I too have never had any previous success before making top 55 in this competition. I hope this competition gives guys like us a chance to break into the scene and show girls how cool we actually are.
The fact of the matter is holograms have an 87% brain cancer rate and I just wasn't willing to take chances. Don't tell Dan and Jon that though...
Thanks for the great comment! Right back at you sir, this competition is such an incredible opportunity for the little guys out there. I've been telling girls that for years, not even my girlfriend believes it. Hopefully we can change their minds...
I love this show idea. It is so bizarre and so relatable. It's that perfect balance between the real world and the ridiculous. That's a delicate balance and you guys pull it off perfectly.
Thanks Matt! Yours is one of my favourites. Your differentiator video killed me. Here's hoping we'll be seeing each other in the top 15!
Thanks Matt. We appreciate the kind words. Every week, the challenge is to take it in bizarre directions without losing an audience. We would love to get down and dirty with the craziness of this show but not without building a connection to the characters and their issues first. Our favorite tv shows balance these elements and it's a challenging exercise for us to attempt.
Good job! I look forward to seeing this on tv one day soon
good job on this weeks challenge. Congratulations on making it this far and I look forward to seeing more. keep on going!
this was awesome! every week you guys produce high quality, solid material. I can't wait to see what is in store for you guys this week and look forward to seeing more of your many adventures!
Thanks Mia! We're stoked to show people our new video on Monday, we think it's really gonna stand out!
Great job guys and congratulations on making it to week 5, looking forward to seeing what week 6 brings. Best of luck
Thanks Kurtis! Hopefully it brings celebration ;)
Just finished watching the video and the concept is really cool. The fact that you guys have never been in the same room together is something unheard of... It would be practically impossible for most of us. Good luck!!
Thanks Stephany! You learn to adapt haha.. We have the fortune I suppose of having an insane idea that let's it work in many ways (see: our week 3 vid), something that comes through for us in our next video as well! Definitely an endless and frustrating challenge though haha..
Good concept. Like the videos. Good luck in the next round. Look forward to seeing the next video. Very talented group of people. There are so many talented people out there.
Thanks Judy!
Pretty bad-ass that you guys have managed to make it this far without even being in the same room - that in itself shows some talent and time management skills! All the best moving forward!
Thanks Ryan! Time management has been problematic with this distance for sure haha..every week brings new challenges. I can only assume you guys are a shoe-in for top 15, so I hope we'll be congratulating each other on Monday!
you guys are so freakin awesome! and ya Jon teaching our grandma Skype over the phone would be impossible! you guys come up with awesome ways to collaborate so far away. Can't wait to see this on prime time!
Glad to see we are getting some good feed back on this weeks mission. We are currently shooting the content for our next mission and its looking really good. So glad to get back into some challenging film making. We're pushing hard for the 15 good luck to everyone!
Good luck teaching your grandma how to use the internet. Accomplishing things over skype can certainly be a challenge. Impressive you made in into the Top 55, congrats, and particularly because you're working from such a long distance. Keep it up and good luck with the Top 15 voting.
Thanks Andrew! Skype is the devil. It seems to especially hate Jon for some reason. Here's hoping we're still in it on Monday!
Hey guys, nice video this week! In terms of constructive criticism, I think it lingered a bit too long on how the odds are stacked against you in terms of the long-distance thing, but I definitely sympathize with the lack of funding and production experience. I think you did a really smart thing by putting up the links in that shot near the end. Good luck with the Top 15!
Thanks Michael! Well thought-out feedback. I offer in defence..try and picture having a project you're so passionate about..and for six weeks straight you get almost no hands-on with the production. We've planned GATN for so many years and now that we finally have the chance to do it, it's extremely frustrating not being involved in the most important parts! Add to that that half the shots need to be locked off on tripod for green screen purposes and you can imagine how limiting it is on our creative freedom :(
I like this project a lot. Great story about your project and a little more about you guys. This video was a great addition to what you have already submitted.
The ideas are very funny. Keep up the good work. You`ve continued to make me laugh.
Well thank you Roger! Hopefully the trend continues next week :)
Great F***in video!
Great F***in comment! Thanks!
Love you guys!! your videos get more and more inventive and better each week. I will definitely be stopping by the bake sale!! can't wait for ninja cookies and I can't wait for more Geoff and the ninja!!
Thanks Shelley, have an extra cookie for me!
Teaching grandma how to use the internet over the phone, I love it. Concept and humor seems to have mass appeal. Great hype video, waiting to see what you bring next.
Thank you Tricia! Credit to the always hilarious Dan for that one ;)
I checked out your alternate 'Hype it' video on you tube, by typing in "GATN week 5 hype it". The background scenes were a good idea, but the one you posted here works just as well, I think. Looking forward to tomorrow & casting a bunch of votes your way. And, a Ninja Bake sale!
Thanks! I don't know if it works "just" as well but I guess the message is still the same :P Hope you make it out to see Jon and Dan, they're at UNBC selling cookies that I can only assume are shaped like throwing stars.
awesome job you guys! and kat t. way to copy and paste comments to more than one project very lazy.... not cool hopefully people like you get lost. You guys are amazing and have one of the most original ideas i have seen.
Thanks Jason! We really appreciate how genuine most of the comments have been so far and not just copy-pastes or generic responses to earn the badge. You can tell when someone has actually watched the video and we've been floored by the response so far!
The concept is so bat-shit crazy I love it. I appreciate the backgorund to the challenges you guys face making your videos. You've done some great work here. Can't wait to see more. Good luck!
Thanks Brian! Not only do we appreciate the comment, we especially appreciate any use of the term "bat-shit crazy". Home-run!
Appreciate the effort, saw two kinds of humour in the top 55, what I like and what I don’t. I hope I will see less silly and no beeps from the top 15.
Thanks Kat..boy, your CTRL + V keys must be getting worn out by now...
Great job guys! This video really explains the obstacles that you guys have to face to produce each video. The hologram special effect is eye catching! Have fun in the big city!
Thanks Sharleen!
Great job on this weeks video gang, and if this is your first project, no matter how this competition pans out, I'd say you are well on your way to big things!! The content is funny, the production is impressive, it really is a great package! Keep bringing the funny and good luck in the top 15!
Thank you Dan, we can only hope that you're right! If we make the top 15 I think our lives will be a little more complete haha..
this weeks video is awesome you guys!! you are all so talented and you continue to work with the challenges of this competition amazingly. Your sell sheet looks really good too.
Thanks Ron, our sell sheet we were especially happy with this round :)
Oh wow. I just arrived in Australia this morning and my team is all back in Vancouver. And we have to do the FLIP IT. Have a great time this weekend!
Welcome to our lives! Although Australia is substantially further away than Prince George and I hear their internet is balls, so you have my pity. Good luck with the mission and sorry you won't be there Saturday!
I agree with Peter S. I think teams would agree too, it's hard enough doing all these challenges, but doing them over long distance must be frustrating. I hope you will be able to get together if you win, or maybe not - this system might work for you :)
Haha the system has definitely brought out some positive things in our creativity..but we would definitely be working together if we go the distance! It is indeed frustrating, but it's still fun and the end goal is all that matters! Thanks for the comment :)
Wow. It's hard to believe that you need to overcome some serious distance between you but you still manage to deliver the goods. Shows great commitment. Keep up the good work and good luck.
Thanks Aurora, hopefully we'll get to keep showing that commitment through to the end!
It's amazing what every team in ComedyCoup has been able to put together under these deadlines, no budget, and on the side of their regular lives.
Geoff and the Ninja definitely sets the bar high in that department. Week after week you guys have made great stuff that explains your concept, has a lot of energy, and is clearly a labour of love.
Hats off for a collection of strong missions despite the distance.
Thanks Peter! The distance has been a hurdle but as much as it's been a detriment, it's also been a boost. It's forced us to get creative in ways we probably never would have imagined otherwise, our week 3 video I think is the best example of this and in our upcoming video, it shines through again.
That said, we sure do look forward to actually shooting something together again soon!
I had no idea that your team was so far away from each other. I admire the commitment of overcoming that obstacle. Congratulations making it to the top 55 in comedycoup and good luck moving forward as they decide the top 15.
Thanks Mike, it's been a crazy grind but it's all so worth it. Our fingers are thoroughly crossed!
I like this that you are just starting out. There is too many professionals in this competition. I believe this should give newcomers a chance to shine. Good luck and congrats.
Thank you Kelley! It's been very humbling to be competing with so many professionals. Regardless of this weekend's outcome, ComedyCoup has given us a new sense of confidence and drive and I know we're going to take this to the next level one way or another!
I'm sorry you're from Prince George! Only kidding, but yeah I agree with other commenters that perhaps you should have shown a bit more.
Haha thanks Demetrius :P We look forward to a return to form next video. Trust us, Monday's video is going to bring all the lawls. Hopefully it will be in celebration of top 15!!
You guys are very likeable. My only issue with this week's video was that you did a lot of talking and not much showing. Good for you guys for making it this far and best of luck!
Why thank you Kyle! We had plans to do much more showing but unfortunately this mission slipped away from us a bit. We've got a more finished version here, you should check it out:
http://youtu.be/ETMYNo2msMM
You guys are my favourite...keep up with your awesomely, creative ideas!!!
Thank you Lisa-Marie! Glad to have your support as we come to the final voting phase this weekend!
Nice to meet the faces behind the ninja... or are you the masters? We can totally related to your story! No experience? Not in same city or province? No problem! :)
Keep hoping the extra hurdles and hopefully see you on the other side (of the competition, not the afterlife)!
Darcy - WingMom.ca
Thanks Darcy, I saw that in your video this week. Here we were thinking we were all alone in that department!
Can't wait to see what happens this weekend, I'm already nervous! Fingers crossed and hope to see you there as well!
Having watched m a n y of the other HYPE videos this week, I have to say your are my favorite! I like the lovable characters and understated humor. You're easily heard and the video has a good flow. Sorry I won't be "in town" to attend the live events!
Thanks Lauri! It's alright, we know you'll be there in spirit!
Great job as always boys. Kudos for making it happen so far apart!
Thanks Scott! Ditto to you guys, love the creative ways you always incorporate the show into the missions.
Hi, guys. I wanted to say great job so far in the competition. It must be so hard to make a show without being in the same room as the other members. I liked the holograms - nice touch. I wish you all the best of luck.
Thanks Kurtis! The most frustrating part about the distance is that it's sooo limiting in how much of the true feel and style of the show we can really get across. Hard to show off our favourite camera moves and tricks when 3/4 of our shots are locked off for green screens! Thanks for the kind words, sir!
must be hard with Skype, good to see all the dedication. I hope to see you in the top 15, or not see you because you are ninjas
Grade A ninja pun sir, well played. Thank you! Our fingers are crossed!!
Yep, skype is the worst. I feel your pain. Great video though! You guys have a very interesting and unique concept for your show. Can't totally wrap my head around it. But who doesn't like ninjas?
Thanks Sabrina! Well if you have any questions, get in touch with us on Twitter and Facebook, we'll gladly clear things up :)
And yes, Skype truly is the worst.
Your video was ok, just didn't feel the HYPE from it and/or the funny just quite wasn't there either. There are so many great videos out there this week, it's gonna be a tough one come Monday to see who gets cut, Good luck to ya's and may the power of the NINJA be with ya's. Hope you have a great HYPE event Sat night. Still rooting for ya's
Haha Sheldon, thank you for the straight forward honesty and all the well wishes! Believe me when I say this was not our favourite mission, was a tough balance for us, the distance factor affected us on this one more than any other I think. There is a better version here with more polished effects and sounds that helps sell the humour more, you should check it out! http://youtu.be/ETMYNo2msMM
We sure hope we'll be breathing a sigh of relief next week from the top 15! Regardless, make sure you check in on us as we'll be seeing the missions all the way through and I promise next week is a return to our usual form ;) we can't wait for this one to drop.
Awesome video. Both informative and funny. Also, congrats on your 3 articles and good luck with your upcoming event. I think it's really smart of you guys to bring various teams together for this event, should be a lot of fun!
Thanks Christina! We should have a video interview coming out within the next couple of days too, plus another article in Prince George! This Saturday should be awesome! We can't wait to meet so many other teams and interact with some of the ComedyCoup fans :) Hopefully it's just the first of many times we'll be seeing other ComedyCoupers in the years to come!
Your best video yet. I look forward to hearing about what real world issues Geoff and his roommate get into and how they resolve coming to the solution from both ninja and non-ninja points of view.
Wow, thanks Kirk! That's one thing we're hoping to get to show off more in future missions and (if we ever find the time) some of our own side videos. The missions have jumped around so much we haven't had much chance yet to focus on the more grounded side of the show while hitting all our marks. We've got plenty of plans though!
I do like ninjas but also like pirates. Any thoughts of including a pirate?
Good work setting up the distance collaboration, not an easy thing to do. Have any of you had experience in production? Any idea what to do with $500k if you got it?
Don't worry Andrew, take a look at the second page of the sell sheet - notice an ominous stare in the clouds? Pirates vs. Ninjas are too classic NOT to include in the show ;)
Minor experience for me, nothing even close to the level of half a million. We're sure we'd have lots to learn along the way but have no doubt we would be able to maximize the return on that budget like no other!
can't wait for the blooper reel to come out on your facebook page!!!
Me neither! It better have all the laughs or Jon's a marked man.
Your hype video was engaging ad highlighted the team work of the project. I thought your sell sheet did a great job of explaining the set up for the show and the direction the episodes would take us. What a great first effort breaking into the comedy scene!
Thank you Liz! Hopefully it won't be our last! We're super happy with the sell sheet especially so thanks for the great feedback!
I'd be more hyped if you didn't spend more time explaining what the Comedy Coup contest was than you did talking about your show.
Hi Jon, thanks for the comment. As this week's mission was to target media and make them interested in telling your story, we decided to focus less on the show and more on our personal side as we felt from a media perspective, that's the more interesting hook. If they were interested in knowing more about the show, they could then check out our previous videos for all the info they would need!
Keep up the good work!!
the sell sheets look amazing! they are very eye catching! this weeks video was also done very very well! Every week I am amazed at the magic you three create! Especially with the fact that Jeremy is so far away!!
Thanks Deanna! Each week I'm amazed I don't die from sleep deprivation!
Nice holograms! :)
One of my favorite entrees! Great effects, great concept! Ah-ya!
Thank you Bob!
Another creative entry and one of the more original concepts. Best of luck to you guys in the next round of voting!
Why thank you, Jason! We await with bated breath...
Well i give you great respect for creating these mission videos being far away! Hopefully people will see that and take notice. Love the holograms btw great touch
Thanks Steve! If there's one thing ninjas respect, it's respect ;) Good luck to you guys this weekend.
Well done folks, Loved the video. You guys make no budget, no problem. Great job, keep up the solid work.
Thank you Ryan. Budgets are for suckers! (but we still really want that $500K...)
Just another great video, looking forward to meeting you guys in person.....or perhaps holograms?
Haha thank you sir! Dan will be hologramming in this weekend, yes, but Jon will be here in the flesh.
Hearing all the obstacles you have overcome and watching the other videos this mission, you are against lots of comedians, directors and producers who are already established. Considering all of that, you guys are doing awesome! I always root for the underdog and like you guys even more now!
Thanks Marissa!
Loved the holograms!! You impress me more each week with your creativity! Best of luck this week making the Top 15! I know where my votes are going! ;)
Thanks Alisa!!
I really loved your video! In most of your videos you have played characters so it is nice to see you guys in the real life!!
You also keep coming up with different creative ways to make amazing videos without being together and continually challenging yourselves by choosing shots where you need to incorporate special effects. You really answered the mission well this week by highlighting to the press why you guys are an interesting story to promote for the contest!
Lastly, love your sell sheet, looks awesome! Great work guys!!!!!
Thanks! All the blood, sweat and tears paid off. And pizza..so much pizza.
Each week your team's video entries are surprising! It makes me wonder what you'll come up with next.I like the holograms. Oddly, though Jon's and Dan's images are kind of flat, their personalities shone through quite well! Nice closer.
Well you won't have to wonder long! Make sure to get all your badges for voting this time :P
I really like the way you explained your concept and your situation so well for the hype project this week. Considering you aren't in the same city to easily get together and work on the projects, you have done great.
Thank you Neda! They definitely force us to get pretty creative. Wait until you see how it factors into next week's video!
Another great week for this crew. Magic, comedic magic.
your sell sheets are also sooo epic!
So awesome. I never would have guessed that you guys don't have any experience or that your not together haha. Loved the hologram thing thought it was supper funny especially with the delay!!
Thanks Nicole! True story: Skype really is that bad.
You guys are incredible. 800km apart. No money. No professional experience. Full time jobs. And you guys are kicking ass with Geoff and the Ninja. Congrats!!
Kicking ass and splitting rent - says so right on the sell sheet ;) Thanks Shannon!!
I really like how inventive you guys have been every week with being 800 km apart and all. Every week you surprise and impress me more and all of you are all so gosh darn likeable!!!
Especially that Jon guy...somethin' about him, amirite!?
