A smug director gets his due when a bumbling a/v asst from the 'other side' is sent to tape him 24/7
View ProjectMy Camerman will utilize a multitutude of camera types giving the overall production style a unique look for a sitcom while underscoring the comic theme. An unsuspecting real person will be captured each week on hidden camera in a short scene.
Fave 3 Views 40Our aim is to produce the pilot so we can all see that first episode...with any luck, Comedy Coup will assist in that pursuit. In the meantime, our commentator is your new best friend and we very much appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. Very cool.
Cheers, Kurtis!

It's different for sure. I enjoy watching all these videos to see the big variety there is in these pitches. Good luck with your project!
Thanks, Sue, appreciate your good wishes... All those positive vibes sure feel good. Cheers! Peter.
Great energy he has but were is the funny?
My Cameraman has potential, this is true. This Differentiator really helped to outline the differences that make this idea unique and to made sure that I knew why I should want to keep watching.
Yah...we really wanted to get those unique markers out there for all to consider. So happy to hear we caught your eye. Very much appreciated, Stephen! Cheers! Peter.
The energy was there, but the teaser did not prove the idea, just the ideas were talked about, needed some funny
Thanks for taking the time to comment, Sheldon...and speaking of needing some funny...now we need some funny from you. Check out the My Cameraman Event Page on Facebook. Send us a funny Selfie by November 8th and you might win a case of beer and a role in our Pilot Episode. And then...you can help us bring the FUNNY to MY CAMERAMAN. CHeers! Peter.
I agree with Fanny 100%, that totally reminded me of Eternal Sunshine!
Thanks, Rebecca, Eternally Greatful For Your Sunshine. Cheers! Peter.
really like the idea of incorporating real footage. Seems very eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Hmmm, memories...it is definitely mind messing and that's why I like it. A fictional comedy unfolding with actors playing parts who each week interact with an unsuspecting real person who becomes a part of the fictional plot. I don't just want to bring my comedy to the viewer, I want to bring the viewer to my comedy - literally. After all, we're all in this together. Thanks so much for your comment, Fanny, very encouraging. Cheers! Peter.
This is definitely a very original idea and potentially very funny! I guess there is no way to know that for sure until we see actual video but this description sets it up perfectly as a potential comedy series.
Thanks, Dan...and you're right, there is no way of knowing until the film can is full. For me the script and casting are paramount to any good idea being successful. I believe the pilot script, which is done, and series potential fits that category, once a green light is switched on and casting begins I plan on making sure the cast completes our comedy equation for success. Cheers! Peter.
I like some of the ideas but didn't really find this video that funny. Seems like it could be frantic and not look great, but maybe some interesting stuff. I wonder if the emphasis on finding "new" ways to tell the story hurts just good old fashioned story telling.
I tend to agree. The story does need to come first. I'm not really sure if I understand what I'm getting into. I like many of the ideas though.
Hi Bill, if you're referring to the video with the frantic announcer, this was a mission video designed to isolate and convey what elements of this series idea sets it apart from the norm. In the case of My Cameraman it is the use of auxiliary cameras to tell the story of a man having his entire life recorded for use at his final judgement and the inclusion of a real person, unscripted, in each episode for it's comic potential and audience connectivity. However, in terms of the general story line, I plan to keep a healthy portion in that 'good ole fashioned' world of humour. Thanks for your critical eye. Cheers! Peter.
I'm not sure but I think this video may have mentioned that there may be one of more cameras involved in the production of this show. ;) What are your plans for making the different looks from the different cameras work together?
Hey, Seth...MC will be shot single camera, however, a variety of secondary cameras will be utilized to underscore the
comic theme, ie., a celestial cameraman taping Josh Connors’ entire life.
From surveillance cams to button-hole cams and everything in between, the secondary cameras will be
treated as a third-eye ‘character’ capturing Josh‘s minutia, nudging Josh, sneaking up on Josh and generally
infiltrating every aspect of his life from the most intimate to the very public.
Watching My Cameraman, the viewer should get a small and humorous sense of what it would be like to be
surveilled and taped 24/7. A game changer for most of us, in terms of our conscious behaviour. Thanks for the question...Cheers! Peter.
I particularly enjoy the part where Monty the angel was distracted by the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup.
Great... A big part of Monty's character is his affection for the Leafs and beer, both frowned upon in his ethereal realm. So coming to earth has its advantages for this wayward angel in waiting. Thanks for the compliment and keep on watchin'! Cheers! Peter.
Interesting concept. I feel like to get the full idea of what you are doing we'd have to see the first episode. I like the commentator, funny and charismatic, but I don't think his voice really fit this particular video very well. Good luck and I'm interested to see the next video.
